So James, what does a typical day look like for you? James says “Firstly I need to say there really is no such thing as a typical day for a commissioning engineer, one of the many reasons the job role is so rewarding and interesting". Commissioning Engineers contribute significantly to maintaining reliable electricity transmission systems, safeguarding assets, and meeting customer demands. Typical activities include Project Delivery and Maintenance, Fault Investigation and Rectification, Commercial Focus, Safety and Compliance, Supervision and Efficiency. "What do I enjoy most about working at Rock? The People. It’s as simple as that." "Having worked with Rock since their first major substation project, I have seen the team grow and develop. It is definitely the people that make the company a great place to work." James says “My role excites me! While our field technicians work a variety of shifts to make sure our clients are taken care of, they don’t go it alone! TOTAL TRANSFORMER SERVICES INC. leadership and PM teams take pride in ensuring coverage to be responsive after hours and on weekends for your emergency transformer service needs. This morning, one of TTS’s owners, Dave Morrison, PMP and crew pulled into site on short notice to help out a valued client in Ontario - rolling oil on this beautiful sunny Saturday! Meanwhile we have another crew in the midst of a site refurb on a 230kv unit, and our CCO Desarai ‘Dee / Des’ Mosher, CITP FIBP spent Friday evening and Saturday morning managing communications and paperwork to launch an emergency project for a new industrial client in Northern Ontario, where TTS’s second owner, Fred Warkentin and a third crew will mobilize this coming Monday. Meanwhile, a 4th field team is gearing up to head back Monday to a commissioning project in northern Ontario for the final stage of that project! Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and TTS’s entire team pulls together to ensure customer service is a priority and make things happen when our clients need results.
