It is not just about supporting the customer, it is about understanding what went wrong in the first place. Marketing teams can bring everyone to the doorstep, but it is the responsibility of business/product teams to keep them coming again and again. It is unfortunate that people working in these teams don’t have the business/product exposure that they need.
