With the nights drawing in, it's a reminder that there is not much of the year to complete everything, be it sales and deliveries here at SAGA or your own #build, #scaffold, or #landscape projects for instance. If the year has been good to you and the thought of 25% of your hard earn't profits being taken by our friendly HMRC is a daunting one - NOW is the time to use your #AnnualInvestmentAllowance and make the total purchase cost of a new #FUSO #Canter fully #taxdeductible against your corporation tax ! At least you have the benefits of your hard graft with the perfect #workhorse and it is still fully tax deductible even if you finance it via an HP agreement. Buy some time with a new vehicle and tell HMRC you have decided to invest what would have been their money on a new #tipper #dropside #curtainsider #beavertail #transporter #wastecollection #skiploader Call for Canter on 07970 003022 and find out why we are the UK's Premier Canter Centre supplying almost 18% of the total UK Canter registrations last year in the UK.

The new Labour government is currently finalising the details of its first major fiscal event since winning the election this summer. Chancellor Rachel Reeves' delivers the Budget on Wednesday (30 October) and has forewarned the public that this will be a 'painful' one. Even with a challenging backdrop, the Budget will be expected to include announcements and commitments that underpin the government’s ambitions regarding growth and sustainability. We've submitted a series of asks for the Chancellor and HM Treasury to consider: 🔸 Growth agenda – expand full expensing to leasing and rental 🔸 Stabilise the EV market – temporary emergency measures targeted at the used EV market: - Myth-busting information campaign - Reduce VAT on sale of used EVs and targeted grants for used EV - 0% BiK used BEV salary sacrifice cars 🔸 Measures needed to meet ZEV Mandate/phase out targets - Low Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rate commitment and clarity - Rebalance Expensive Car Supplement - Expand salary sacrifice to the civil service 🔸 Support for electrification of LCVs - Expand Plug-in Van Grant - New grant for used vans - Improve charging for LCVs These asks were developed with extensive input from our members and have formed the basis of our interactions with HM Treasury and other government departments over recent months. Members can use this handy tool to write to their MP, to help gather support for the Budget asks and used EV campaign. 🖱 https://bit.ly/mpusedevs #NationalBudget #Decarbonisation #Growth #Sustainability #UsedEVs #ElectricVehicles #Vans #LCVs #Electrification #MythBusting #ZEVMandate #BiK

Mileage Claims⠀ ⠀ If you use your own car for your employment or for your own business you can claim tax relief on the mileage. ⠀ ⠀ If your employer does not pay the full rate you can claim tax relief on the difference. ⠀ ⠀ For cars this the rate is currently 45p per mile (reducing to 25p after 10,000 miles), motorbikes are 24p per mile and bicycles are 20p per mile.⠀ ⠀ If you have a company car and pay for your own fuel you can only claim the fuel element of the claim which changes each quarter and depends on your engine size and fuel type. ⠀ ⠀ The electricity rate for an electric car is currently 9p per mile.

If you provide care for someone for at least 35 hours per week and earn below the £151 per week threshold (after deductions), you may be entitled to a benefit called 'Carer's Allowance'. 👉 47% of current and former unpaid carers say that caring had a negative impact on their finances and savings, so accessing benefits you are entitled. 💡 Analysts at Policy in Practice estimates over half a million carers who were eligible to claim 'Carers Allowance' did not do so last year, losing out on more than £2bn collectively. Roadworks & other beefs Today I received a road tax notification for my wife's small petrol car. The charge has risen 16% on last year, for which the UK motorist enjoys: 1. An increasing number of potholes 2. Roadworks that never get finished. Recently I drove North from London on the M1 an went through over 20 miles of roadworks. It was midweek, after 9 am and I counted a total of 5 people and one transit van in the cordoned of area. 3. Idiotic variable speed limits on "smart", well dumb, motorways. Operated by jokers who slow traffic down because of fog on a clear sunny day and advertise congestion that they caused by bunching traffic before entry slip road, so as to make it almost impossible for traffic to merge. Had they not caused traffic to slow there would be nature spaces for other road users to slip into. 4. Making changes to road layouts after previous changes had been implement because those who plan roadworks could not plan their way out of a paper bag. 5. More speed cameras that anywhere else Add to the above: 1. Poor water quality 2. Train fares that are too expensive 3. A broken NHS 4. A school system that is falling apart 5. Uncontrolled illegal immigration 6. Rising unemployment So although I do not do politics normally I would like to thank the Conservative government for their total failure across the board.
