Dear friends, Today, I reach out to you with a heartfelt plea for help. Madalina, a brave mother of three, is in a desperate situation and needs our support. After several surgeries, Madalina has lost one of her legs and is now confined to a wheelchair. These tragic events have placed her in a difficult position where she can barely provide for her children and herself. The Urgent Situation Madalina has not been able to pay her rent for the past seven months. Understandably frustrated, the landlord has given her a final warning and plans to involve the authorities to evict her from the house. This family is on the brink of homelessness. How You Can Help I am asking you to contribute as little as one euro, dollar, or pound to help Madalina and her children. Your generous donations will be used primarily for: Paying off overdue rent: Ensuring the family has a roof over their heads. Buying food: Providing the essentials for Madalina and her children. Improving month on month for us means more people impacted 🙌 (best KPI ever) In June Harris Farm Markets was our stand out customer. 🎉 1 in 13 of their customers paid it forward $3,283. 🎉 $50 was the largest PIF. 🎉 $3.22 was the average PIF. Harris Farm also match each customer donation dollar for dollar. “Why do you care so much about donation disbursement timelines?” 👈 lots of people ask me that question because, well, I talk about them a lot. What’s happening right now across the Southeast is why I care. When I ran Team Rubicon, our ability to effectively plan a response operation was directly tied to our estimates on what we could raise to support it. These estimates were typically driven by projections based on fundraising velocity over the first 96 hours. Getting a stack of donations 90 days later didn’t cut it. Worse yet, it created an accounting nightmare because most of those donations carried restrictions we may have struggled to meet after the fact. That’s why one of the first innovations we made at Groundswell was an instant match and next-day distribution. No delays. No aggregating. No minimum disbursement thresholds that can stick donations in disbursement purgatory for months or, in some cases, years. So I’d challenge all our competitors - shrink your timelines. These moments are too urgent. Even if it erodes one of Groundswell's key differentiators, it’s the right thing to do. If nothing else, at least give response organizations visibility into the amount of money currently awaiting disbursement so that they can plan.
