Say goodbye to Winter and welcome Spring with open arms! Spring brings flowers which makes me think about the surplus of vases many of our clients have taking up valuable space in their homes. Let’s face it, you really only need a couple of vases with different sizes, shape, and color. After determining which ones you really love and need to keep, here are some tips to dispose of the extras: 1. Return vases received with flower deliveries to your local florist. 2. Get creative! Check out Pinterest for lots of upcycling ideas. 3. Donate to local charities like GoodWill or Salvation Army. 4. List them on FB Marketplace or other online exchange sites. Before you pack a single box, it’s important to invest time in decluttering. Here are some simple tips to help you choose what gets to go with you, and what items to give a second life through donation. 📦 Before you pack, think about your future space and what will fit, especially if you're downsizing. Make a plan to donate or sell the items that you no longer need. 📦 Choose one room to focus on at a time, and touch every item in that room to determine how it should be categorised - keep, donate, sell. 📦 Assign each room a color using colored tape (i.e. kitchen=red, bathroom =blue, etc.) to make it super easy for everyone involved to know where the boxes should go. Remember, the less you have, the more your new space will feel like a fresh start! 🏡 #MovingHome #UK #Declutter #Donate #Recycle

But clutter does a horrible job at keeping your space manageable. Here are 3 tips you probably don’t know exist: 1. Start small: Begin with one room or even a drawer. 2. Use the 12-month rule: If you haven't used it in a year, let it go. 3. Donate and sell: Give items a second life by donating or selling. Heard of the room-by-room decluttering method? It's pretty self-explanatory. Move room-by-room fully decluttering one space at a time and then move onto the next. This method is simple but effective. It keeps you motivated, so you can see big results faster. It also creates spaces to enjoy your work and boosts your confidence. Start with quick-win spaces, commit to one room at a time, and don't let the trash/donations linger. Avoid one of the cons of this method (making another room a dumping ground) by handling each item once: make a decision about each item (keep, donate, trash, or relocate) so you don't have to decide about that item when you make it to the "dumping ground" for your final room to declutter. If you have any gently used coats or winterwear that you need to declutter, contact me about my 3rd Annual Coat Drive, which is underway. Drop-off locations are in Philadelphia. Outside of Philly? I am sure there is a local charity shop that would be grateful for your donations! More tips on this method here: https://lnkd.in/e3i5e_jx #Declutter #InteriorDesign #Homes

If you're looking for a sign to finally declutter and get organized, let this be it! Try the "Four-Box Method" 📦 Keep: Things that need to stay and will be organized later. Donate: Items in good condition but no longer needed. Trash: Things that are broken or unusable. Relocate: Items that belong somewhere else in your home. December is the Month of Giving, so consider making your "Donate" box the biggest of all! #Declutter #Organization #InteriorDesign #MonthOfGiving

We should begin to declutter our homes not on the basis of what should be gotten rid of but rather what should be kept! It is not always easy to let go of the things that we have held onto but like every person who has ever been in a toxic relationship will tell you – letting go isn't so bad. If the things that you have are useful, like old jackets or sweatshirts, that do not fit you anymore but are in good shape, donate them to various charities. It is once you get rid of all these things that you make so much room to breathe and to fill your space with all the things that you really need, want, and will make your life so much easier. #DeCluttrMe #professionalorganizer #simplify #declutter #decluttering #clutter #clutterfree #organizing #organized
