At University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust patients with lung cancer were previously booked into a 12-weekly check-up scan, with a face-to-face follow-up appointment to receive the results. 🏥 Now, clinicians review the scans and only bring in patients with concerning results to discuss them. For patients with normal results, they text them with the news instead of making them travel. 💚 This simple change has helped patients avoid unnecessary trips and gives clinicians more time for those who need it most. ⭐ This is saving 3x hours per clinic, or 1,167 clinician hours, as well as 6,883 patient travel hours per year. 💫 #HealthcareInnovation #Accurx #PatientCare

The healthcare industry is experiencing a shortage of radiologists, leading to clinical burnout. In breast care, this is no exception. The U.S. FDA guidelines (and similar guidance from EUSOBI) going into effect this year will require mammography facilities to notify patients about their breast density, highlighting the importance of supplemental screening in women with dense breasts. Patients will now be better equipped to make decisions; however, these guidelines, coupled with aging populations, will greatly boost the need for more breast exams. Is your practice ready? Discover how one facility’s implementation of Invenia™ ABUS, the 1st FDA-approved ultrasound supplemental screening tool designed for detecting cancer in dense breasts, enhanced their clinic’s operational effectiveness and transformed how they delivered breast care. #GEHealthCare #ABUS #BreastUltrasound #DenseBreasts #ClinicalBurnout

At Fraser Health, we’re setting new standards in leveraging technology to enhance patient care and ensure sustainable operations amid growing demand. Here are some of our latest innovations: The Digital Twin is a virtual model of Fraser Health that uses a powerful algorithm to simulate and optimize our system for better health outcomes for patient groups. The Virtual Hospitalist model at Eagle Ridge Hospital allows physicians working remotely to review patient charts, order treatments and document insights, which helps physicians and care teams in the hospital to focus on admitting new patients and providing hands on care. An AI-powered program is used by medical staff during colonoscopies to detect small, hard-to-see polyps. This system, trained on thousands of images, highlights suspicious lesions, allowing them to be removed, which significantly reduces future colorectal cancer risk. We have exciting projects ahead.
