If you're working on 2024 hiring budgets and will be posting new jobs. Do me a quick favor: Scroll back to your application plan. See that “cover letter” section? Just delete it. Yep, hit that delete button a few more times. Is it gone now? Awesome. You don’t need it. No one does. Now, look at your job posting again. See where it says “competitive salary based on experience”? Delete that too. Replace it with the real salary range. People want transparency. Next up, check those “years of experience” you’ve listed. Do you actually need all that? Probably not. Knock off a few years. Last thing—if you’ve got some lengthy interview process for applicants planned. Cut it in half, then... cut it in half again. Perfect! No one wants a marathon of interviews. Instead, keep it to a couple of core interviews and do a panel interview if you need more input, but you probably don't! Now you’re ready to attract top talent. Let’s get hiring! Anything I missed?

Employers are now looking for different things in the recruiting process, as per a July 2023 Survey of 5,000 employers conducted by LinkedIn. Instead of just focusing on traditional resumes, they are more interested in evaluating candidates on their soft skills such as leadership, listening, and their ability to demonstrate a positive direction of purpose.
