Below is a link to an interesting insight into Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd.'s patent-pending innovation, where our in-wheel motors can generate customizable sounds. The sound comes directly from the In-Wheel Motors, and as a result, the motors create vibrations that, at different frequencies, can be felt by the driver through the steering wheel and chassis. The video also showcases this with three measurements (using equipment from Dewesoft). This feature is valuable for vehicles not only for safety purposes but also for bringing emotions back to electric vehicles, especially in sports cars, which currently lack sound. Today’s EVs don’t have a sound signature like traditional cars with V6, V8, or V12 engines. For years, consumers wanted cars to become quieter, with a lack of intrusive noise. With the introduction of hybrid and electric cars, cars have become so quiet that they lack a bit of excitement. Engine noise is also useful when changing gear and for warning visually-impaired pedestrians of a car's approach.
