The transition to #electricvehicles is an unstoppable #revolution, and Glida India is proud to be an enabler through our consistent initiatives focused on building more value for EV users. This is just the beginning of a massive #evolution towards a #sustainable lifestyle that will have a tremendous #positiveimpact on business, people, and the planet. The exchange and flow of ideas are essential to maintain progress. It’s time to engage in the hard talks that will push #electricmobility towards rapid, inorganic growth. Highlights from Mr. Awadhesh Kumar Jha’s panel at ELECTRICON 2024 organized by EVreporter.com: ✅ The Government of India is doing commendable work to promote the uptake of #eMobility. However, they should also focus on making reliable power available 24x7 along #highways. Consumers and #fleet operators, like #buses and #trucks, will gain confidence if they see chargers running all the time. This will boost the visibility, viability, and attractiveness of #EVcharging.  ✅ The Government of India should design bidding guidelines for the equitable allocation of public spaces to private CPOs. Currently, there are no standard guidelines adopted by various #government agencies. This should enable and maximize the revenue-earning ability of the agency, at least for the initial 5-6 years. Having a pre-determined lease/revenue sharing for space allocation will go a long way, similar to the Feed-In Tariff regime in #electricity generation.  ✅ #OpenAccess regulations should account for the nature of public charging and allow banking over a year instead of a month. Wheeling and cross-subsidy charges should be kept in abeyance until EV penetration reaches a 10-15% threshold.  ✅ Service fee capping, as contemplated in draft guidelines, should not be pursued. This should be left to the market as competition would take care of it. Besides, determining a service fee in this business is fraught with the risk of pushing outdated technological products. Fees are a function of capex, opex, and the utilization of assets. Capex varies across different types of chargers and their capacities, ranging from INR 3000 to INR 70,00,000, excluding electrical #infrastructure costs. Therefore, determining a service fee is not feasible.
