Despite many in the country feeling less optimistic about society and their own personal economic situation ahead of the Autumn budget, our latest research covered by Fundraising UK Ltd shows that it's by no means all doom and gloom for charities.   Nearly two-thirds want to see greater government funding for the third sector – with some clear preferences for particular sectors – and many people now donate more than they did a few years ago.   This could present an opportunity for charities to grow support and make a powerful case for a stronger role at the heart of policy making and service delivery. To achieve this, they need to truly understand who their target audiences are and how to inspire and motivate them to engage. https://lnkd.in/e93P4-Ng

Volunteers from VINCI Building UK's project team delivering the transformational regeneration of St Helens town centre have worked together to support The Standing Tall Foundation, a local charity which is providing Christmas gifts and toys for the most vulnerable families in the borough. An event held in a marquee at the Living Well Building saw more than 60 volunteers from a wide range of companies help wrap, pack and deliver over 2000 presents. These were distributed amongst 50 local schools identified as having pupils with the greatest need as well as homeless families, ensuring the most vulnerable children have something to open on Christmas day. #socialvalue #communitesmatter #humility #teamspirit

The Code’s Steering Group want to take a wider look at the Code, exploring its content, structure, applicability to different sizes of charity and user-friendliness of the framework as well as barriers or obstacles to using the Code. As such we invite responses to the consultation from both users and non-users. We are interested to hear from those with awareness of the Code and those who have limited familiarity. The steering group has therefore launched a public consultation to help refresh and reshape the Code and make sure the Code remains relevant and useful. The survey is open to charities across the country - current users and people new to the Code from 8 May 2024 until 11 August 2024.
