As we get ready to deck the halls for the festive season, Glandore is thrilled to be teaming up with our charity partners IYF - The Irish Youth Foundation to host a Christmas Gift Appeal for our members. For 39 years, the IYF has helped level the playing field for young people across Ireland who are experiencing disadvantage. They support children and young people through key transitions in their life and work closely with a huge number of community groups and services across the country. We are asking our members to generously donate a small gift to three brilliant causes Just Ask After School Club, Wellsprings and the Northern Ireland Youth Forum. Members can bring their gift to each of our Glandore Members Christmas Parties where we will have a drop off area in place. More details can be found in yesterdays members newsletter. 🧾 We would like to say a special thanks to Declan and the team at the Just Ask After School Club who welcomed us into their space a couple of weeks ago to show us the level of incredible work they do. Just Ask are an after-school support project located in the heart of Dublin’s North West Inner City which transforms the lives of children and young people, with a focus on providing a safe and productive place for children to go to after school. #homefromhome #irishyouthfoundation #Christmasgiftappeal #GlandoreNetwork

Beyond Santa Clause, gift guides and the John Lewis ad, Christmas is a time of giving and thinking of others 🤝 Since the pandemic, telephone fundraising has made a comeback. But how can charities ensure it’s effective? Around one-third of charity sector employees work from home, meaning traditional phone systems aren’t ideal ☎️ Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems only require an internet connection and the relevant software, meaning that fundraisers can take calls from anywhere. Read our AgeUK case study, and discover how Crystaline can support your charity, not just at Christmas, but all year round: https://bit.ly/4esxYq5 #BusinessComms #Charity

Despite many in the country feeling less optimistic about society and their own personal economic situation ahead of the Autumn budget, our latest research covered by Fundraising UK Ltd shows that it's by no means all doom and gloom for charities. Nearly two-thirds want to see greater government funding for the third sector – with some clear preferences for particular sectors – and many people now donate more than they did a few years ago. This could present an opportunity for charities to grow support and make a powerful case for a stronger role at the heart of policy making and service delivery. To achieve this, they need to truly understand who their target audiences are and how to inspire and motivate them to engage. https://lnkd.in/e93P4-Ng

Volunteers from VINCI Building UK's project team delivering the transformational regeneration of St Helens town centre have worked together to support The Standing Tall Foundation, a local charity which is providing Christmas gifts and toys for the most vulnerable families in the borough. An event held in a marquee at the Living Well Building saw more than 60 volunteers from a wide range of companies help wrap, pack and deliver over 2000 presents. These were distributed amongst 50 local schools identified as having pupils with the greatest need as well as homeless families, ensuring the most vulnerable children have something to open on Christmas day. #socialvalue #communitesmatter #humility #teamspirit

Have your say! Charity Governance Code consultation The Charity Governance Code is a practical tool to help charities and their trustees develop high standards of governance. The Code’s Steering Group want to take a wider look at the Code, exploring its content, structure, applicability to different sizes of charity and user-friendliness of the framework as well as barriers or obstacles to using the Code. As such we invite responses to the consultation from both users and non-users. We are interested to hear from those with awareness of the Code and those who have limited familiarity. The steering group has therefore launched a public consultation to help refresh and reshape the Code and make sure the Code remains relevant and useful. The survey is open to charities across the country - current users and people new to the Code from 8 May 2024 until 11 August 2024. 📢 Support Urgently Needed as Back-to-School Costs Soar in Donegal 📢 As the back-to-school season approaches, families across Donegal are feeling the intense pressure of rising education-related expenses. To help ease this burden, the Donegal Food Response Network, supported by the Donegal Local Development Company (DLDC), has urgently launched a back-to-school appeal for donations to support local community groups and the families most affected by these financial pressures. 🌟 How You Can Help: The Donegal Food Response Network, made up of 21 community organisations across the county, is asking for your support through donations of food, school supplies, vouchers, and cash. These contributions will be distributed to local families struggling to make ends meet during this challenging time. 📉 Shelves Are Bare: As the demand for assistance has skyrocketed, community groups that typically maintain emergency supplies are finding their shelves increasingly bare, leaving many families needing more support. 📍 Find Your Nearest Food Bank: To support your community, visit www.donegalfoodresponse.ie to find details of your nearest food bank. Donations of food, school supplies, or cash can be made directly to these local food banks. 💻 Donate Online: For those unable to visit in person, donations can also be made online through the iDonate pages of individual community groups. Links to these pages are available on www.donegalfoodresponse.ie making it easy for anyone to contribute, no matter where they are. 💙 #BackToSchoolSupport #DonegalCommunity #DonateNow #supportlocalfamilies #WeCareFoodBank #CaraHouseFamilyResourceCentre #CFFAM #ÁrainnMhór #RossesCDP #TheDoorwayProject #PreSchoolAndAfterSchoolChildcare #FamilyResourceCentreRaphoe #CloughaneelyFoodBank #InishowenDevelopmentPartnership #TheMustardSeed #DFRC #Donegal #SpraoiAgusSpórt #FinnValleyFRC #ClonmanyCommunityCentre #AnMachaireLeChéile
