Mountain Line (Missoula, MT) is well on their way towards achieving their 2035 goal of a zero-emission fixed-route fleet, powered by their investment in GILLIG Battery Electric buses. Once 10 more of GILLIG's latest generation Battery Electric buses arrive in 2025, the agency will only have 3 more buses in their fleet to replace! But replacing aging diesel buses with Battery Electric buses is not only a green choice, it's also a way to save 'green' over the bus' lifetime. Jennifer Sweten, Mountain Line Director of Operations, explained the cost benefits: "Electric buses in warm weather cost about 30 cents a mile on electricity. On a cold day that jumps up to about 45 cents a mile. They're about half as much to operate as a traditional diesel bus." Approximately 40 #Karsan #eJEST electric minibuses are currently operating across the USA, serving communities in California, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Virginia, and, most recently, #Minnesota. The introduction of the eJEST marks a significant milestone for the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) and the broader Midwestern States. In early 2023, MVTA conducted a demonstration project where eJEST maintained reliable traction on wet and icy roads, showcasing its capability to handle snow and cold temperatures. This successful trial led MVTA to incorporate the eJEST into their fleet, enhancing community transit services with a reliable and environmentally friendly option. The narrower the parking space, the higher the income from parking fees, but the higher the risk of the carport being destroyed; the wider the parking space, the lower the risk of the carport being destroyed, but the lower the income from the parking space. Below is our advice on considering the width of a car park from the point of view of automatic parking capacity. Generally the size of the space that an automated parking car can park into is the width of the car + 60cm. (Maybe some cars are doing better). If the car park is predominantly lorries or buses, it is recommended that individual parking spaces are at least 2.5m (distance from white line to white line).
