I think about this interview clip quite a bit. https://lnkd.in/gk-4G6jF A) Because Herbie is a piano hero of mine. I vividly remember my first time hearing the opening synth line of Chameleon and it’s still just as good the 10,000 time I’ve listened. (I may or may not be hitting 10,001 as I write this post) B) Because it makes me a better resource to my team. I lead a small team that has a mountain of work and limited capacity. We want to perform well but we hear a lot of “wrong” chords along the way. 🎶 Plunk Somebody forgot to add customer service training to the product roadmap, and suddenly, we need to create content and train 300 people in 1-2 weeks to avoid a rollout delay. 🎶 Plunk Business priorities shift, and just like that, our carefully planned roadmap no longer matters. 🎶 Plunk An audit reveals hundreds of pieces of content that need to be reviewed, and everything else has to go on hold. These moments can be frustrating and unexpected, but I’ve learned the best way to handle them is to stop, listen, and then play the notes that make it right. It takes practice and intentional effort, but the result is always worth it—your team will feel the difference, and so will your outcomes. #Leadership #Teamwork #ProblemSolving

𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭: 𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 There’s a powerful moment in My Own Private Idaho where Keanu Reeves’s character, Scott, says to an old friend: "𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝐼 ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑦𝑜𝑢, 𝑚𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑒𝑟, 𝑝𝑠𝑦𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑐 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑟. 𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑚𝑦 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑓𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟, 𝐼 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦." This line captures the bittersweet reality of personal growth: we often outgrow the environments and relationships that once shaped us. But it also reminds us to honor the role those moments played in our journey. Growth doesn’t mean dismissing the people or experiences that defined our past. Instead, it’s about recognizing their value while moving forward toward who we’re becoming. Every teacher, every challenge, and every relationship serves a purpose, even if their role in our story changes over time. Like Scott in this scene—or Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever, stepping away from his Brooklyn neighborhood to dream of a life beyond—our growth sometimes requires turning away from what’s familiar. It’s not an act of rejection, but one of alignment. It’s about finding people and places that resonate with the person you’re striving to become. To anyone experiencing this transition: it’s okay to love your past and still leave it behind. It’s okay to outgrow your circle and pursue something new. And it’s okay to carry gratitude for what was, even as you step boldly into what will be. Have you ever had to balance moving forward with honoring your past? How did you navigate that change? I’d love to hear your thoughts. #PersonalGrowth #Outgrowing #Gratitude #GrowthMindset #MovingForward https://lnkd.in/efnwgHWb

Jack Ma once said, 'When Selling to close friends and family, no matter how much you're selling to them, they will always feel you're earning their money, no matter how cheap you sell to them, they still wouldn't appreciate it.'There will always be people who do not care about your Costs, Time, Effort, they rather let other people cheat them, allowing others to earn, then supporting someone they know. Cause in their heart, they will always be thinking, 'How much did he earn from me?' instead of "How much did he SAVE/MAKE for me?"This is a classic example of a poor person's mentality!Jack Ma on Sales: 'When doing Sales, the first people who will trust you will be Strangers, Friends will be shielding against you, fair-weather friends will distance from you. Family will look down upon you.'The day you finally succeed, paying the bill for every get-together dinner, entertainment, you will realised: Everyone else is present except the Strangers.

Let the wall tremble at the sound of your heart you, the powerhouse of potential who refused to be bound. Stand tall, embrace the wreckage of the past, and stride forward with ferocious joy. For it is you who will not be denied, who will make waves where there were once ripples, and who will inspire the next soul to rise and break through their own barriers. In this epic moment, know that this is your time, your stage, and the world is waiting for the brilliance only you can illuminate

FIGHT HIM MAGNUS! Going soft buddy? Call Rapport’s family to see if you can trick his mom into giving you your knight back. The one that you blundered because even the best are human. Ask for a new notation sheet and rip yours up before the arbiter looks. Because no one would argue you are the lesser player here. Ain’t nobody in Bentonville as good in business as he is in chess. There is a difference between being competitors and being lunatics. Winners versus cowards who lucked into some influence so they refuse to resign even when they screwed it up. “Dayton, there was gray area but now that you refused to go to court where we could further torture you and your family, we let Mike Dennis go and are considering how to proceed”. That’s not democracy, freedom of speech or American. But fine! There is no gray area but I’m just a person with a “grievance” right? Here’s the middle ground: - DELETE SECTIONS from your ethics and compliance policies. - CLOSE your health centers. - NEVER promote your mental health resources because my former leadership never informed me they existed. - DO NOT SEND your people officers to well being events. - If it happens again ➡️ FIX IT! Or go be Uber drivers if you don’t the responsibility and Cush life that comes with. Then we’ll call it a draw! Until then, I’m going of the assumption I’ll be winning. Because NO ONE EVER TOLD ME ANYTHING OTHERWISE. During COVID LOCKDOWN! Walmart Corporate: LOSE! https://lnkd.in/gN-maXUT
