In a world where the speed of decision-making defines success on the battlefield, EUCOM stands out as a model for the future of combatant commands. In War on the Rocks, Major General Pete Andrysiak P.E. and Bryan Quinn argue that EUCOM’s ability to rapidly innovate, integrate allies, and experiment with new technologies is exactly what the DoD needs to scale across the force. The article makes a compelling case for empowering combatant commands with greater autonomy, resources, and authority to meet emerging challenges. The lessons from EUCOM's proactive approach aren't just about responding to threats—they're about staying ahead of them. How can the rest of DoD follow EUCOM's lead? By cutting through bureaucracy and making mission-first agility the priority. Speed and winning matter! It was a pleasure to join Lieutenant General Tom Copinger-Symes, Mivy James FBCS, Lieutenant General Todd Isaacson and Kristina E. on a panel at the Strategic Command Conference 2024. We discussed software defined warfare, the lessons learned so far from the war in Ukraine and the changing relationship between the MoD and industry. It was a great discussion and for me there were four key takeaways for us all: 📈 We must learn lessons from the commercial world - we need to build an integrated enterprise that spans defence and industry to exploit new technologies at pace. 💡 Business as usual acquisition is still too slow to keep up with the changing threat. To stay ahead we need to scale different models like #CRENIC to create integrated enterprises focused on collaboratively getting capability to the front line. 🌐 Use of the electromagnetic spectrum is evolving and transcends all military domains. Now is the time to double down on new CEMA capabilities across defence. 🤝 We need a culture of collaboration not transactions, and alignment of purpose. This will also help us attract the talent and skills we need to win. #SharpeningDefencesEdge #CollaborateToProtect

Ravens and those aspiring to be one! I'm reaching out to tap into our collective expertise and experiences. Have you had a chance to delve into the Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) doctrine publications tailored for each military service? It's fascinating how each branch has sculpted its unique guidelines that feed into the broader DoD EMS doctrine. I want your thoughts on how these service-specific documents mesh with our overarching DoD strategies. As we dive deeper, I would like to know if you've noticed any synergies or critical discrepancies that might affect our ability to operate cohesively in joint missions. Are there areas within these doctrines that require more clarity or enhancement? Perhaps you've spotted gaps in one service's approach that might pose challenges for integrated multi-domain operations. Sharing your insights could be incredibly valuable in pinpointing where we are excelling and where we might need to focus our efforts to bolster interoperability and operational effectiveness. I am looking forward to an enriching discussion! #EW #ElectronicWarfare #electromagneticwarfare #EMSO #MilitaryDoctrine #JointOperations #DefenseStrategy #DoD #AOC

Let's come together to dive deep into EMSO doctrine! Often, military doctrine is read once (more of a brief read-over) and then forgotten about by most—let's change that! #EW #ElectronicWarfare #electromagneticwarfare #EMSO #MilitaryDoctrine #JointOperations #DefenseStrategy #DoD #AOC

What a pleasure it was to watch members of our executive leadership team represent some of the most important topics in modern warfare. Well done, Alain Cohen and Bradford Powell. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 Ultra Intelligence & Communications #CJADC2 #multidomainoperations #defensetechnology #military #innovation #intelligence #communications #technology #networking #JointAllDomainCommand #situationalawareness
Alain Cohen, our president of our Communications business, moderated an engaging conversation on “Critical CJADC2 Missions & Technologies” during the Executive Mosaic forum this morning. The panelists—each with extensive experience and deep familiarity with the imperative need for collaborative combined command and control—discussed the significant challenges the integration poses, from the need to synchronize disparate systems, protocols, and operating methods to the cultural challenges of doing so. Engineering and implementing solutions that facilitate interoperability for coalition forces is at the heart of the Ultra Intelligence & Communications mission. Thank you to Lt. Gen. (Ret) Mary O’Brien, Major-General Michel-Henri (Mike) St-Louis, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jon Stanley, and Thomas Johnson for delivering a robust and productive discussion to government and industry partners. #POCAI5 #event #militarysolutions #militarytechnology #multidomainoperations #defensetechnology #military #innovation #intelligence #communications #technology #networking #CJADC2 #JADC2 #JointAllDomainCommand #situationalawareness
