🚧 Project Profile: Interstate 390/590 in Rochester, NY 🚧 FORTA-FI® has made an impact on one of New York State's busiest highway interchanges, the Interstate 390/590 corridor in Rochester, NY. This project highlights how advanced #FiberReinforcement can enhance #PavementPerformance in high-traffic areas. By incorporating FORTA-FI fibers into the asphalt mix, the #pavement gained superior resistance to cracking, rutting, and fatigue, ensuring a longer lifespan. After 5 years the #roadway still shows limited cracking! This innovative reinforcement solution was selected to meet the high-performance demands of the interchange, where safety and sustainability are paramount. The Interstate 390/590 project stands as a testament to the effectiveness of fiber-reinforced #asphalt in delivering resilient infrastructure. #FORTAFI continues to be a trusted choice for challenging roadway projects nationwide. 🔗 Learn more about this project: https://lnkd.in/gBb8YyAT

Landmark highways such as NH-150C have a unique set of elements that need to be incorporated in the planning process to ensure maximum efficiency of the roadway. One such challenge was to reduce conflicting movement of vehicles by finding a way around intersections. It was decided to construct two double trumpet interchanges that allowed for vehicle crossing without putting a pause to vehicle flow. The two trumpets at chainage KM 187+234 and at KM 202+059 use grade separation to have a continued crossing above the main highway allowing for free flow of traffic on both routes. The BVEPL team looks forward to the implementation of numerous such features in future projects! THE FEDERAL BRIDGE CORPORATION LTD. ANNOUNCES THE START OF THE SECOND BLUE WATER BRIDGE REHABILITATION PROJECT POINT EDWARD, March 28, 2024 – The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (The FBCL) is announcing the Second Blue Water Bridge (SBWB) rehabilitation project, set to start on May 29, 2024. In keeping with our continuous investment in stewardship, for the first time in over two decades, the SBWB will be closed, while the First Blue Water Bridge (FBWB) will operate with bidirectional traffic to maintain essential operations for commerce and commuters. The vital rehabilitation work, much of which will occur beneath the bridge, is key to ensuring our high standards of safety and efficiency. By actively managing disruptions, including extending work hours into nights and weekends, we aim to manage the project’s timeline effectively. Our joint efforts with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) are vital, enabling the execution of crucial maintenance activities on both sides of the border with considered measures to manage traffic flow. Key Highlights of the Rehabilitation Project: Bidirectional Traffic: The FBWB will operate bidirectionally, sustaining traffic flow in both directions, while the SBWB undergoes rehabilitation. Wide Load Restrictions: To ensure safe navigation through the construction zone, loads will be limited to less than 3m (10 feet) in width. Uninterrupted Toll Service: Toll booth operations will continue to provide uninterrupted service. #bluewaterbridge #Sarnia #exports #imports #infrastructure https://lnkd.in/dwWrAJFZ

Prepare for more M25 closures this spring... National Highways recently closed a five-mile stretch of road between junctions 10 and 11 to enable the demolition of the Clearmount bridge. This marked the first scheduled daytime shutdown of all lanes on the M25 since it opened — and necessitated an 11.5-mile diversion from Friday to Monday. After April, the organisation plans to close a section of the M25 between junctions nine and 10. And this time, the closure will involve an even longer diversion. Plus, a further three closures are set to take place before September. It's crucial that this is all signposted clearly to protect the safety of road users and workers alike! Last week we had the pleasure of exhibiting at the PWX Conference in Atlanta. After many great conversations with the attendees, one thing became very clear: Municipalities across the country are concerned with pavement preservation. Rising costs across the board have forced Public Works departments to figure out how to do more with less. An effective way for cities to get the most out of their budgets is by adopting a pavement preservation strategy that prioritizes early action to extend the life of the city's roads. Early preservation allows Public Works departments to take at least a portion of the money they would have had to spend on expensive road maintenance, like a Mill and Overlay, and use those funds on other projects. To learn more about proactive pavement preservation, check out the link in the comments. #pwx #publicworks #cities #engineering #innovation #apwa #roads #streets #asphalt
