Foresight’s Sydney team recently rolled up their sleeves at Our Big Kitchen, preparing 150 hot meals from donated food for those in need. This incredible community-run charity unites people to support Sydney’s most vulnerable, including the homeless, families at Ronald McDonald House, and individuals seeking refuge from domestic violence. “Our Big Kitchen’s mission to feed those in need while championing sustainability is truly inspiring. Most of the meals are prepared using donated produce that would otherwise go to landfill, a fantastic initiative for both the community and the environment.” - Andrew Heyden, CIMA®, Director, Foresight. This volunteer day is part of Foresight’s #InvestingInOurFuture initiative, which empowers our teams to give back and make a positive impact in the communities that need it most. NPC (New Philanthropy Capital) has released the Partners for Change report, which was funded by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). It's an insightful strategy proposal for the next government to consider as it's packed out with information about what the government could do to move philanthropy in the UK forward. There are: 🎯 Eight recommendations for putting the partnership between government and charities on a strong footing 🎯 Nine recommendations in priority policy areas where civil society and government can work together to make change 🎯 Nine recommendations about how charities and funders can work together. Includes topics about in-house giving strategies, how impact and data can be used, ways the inequalities that society is addressing could be addressed, how giving can be used to respond to the climate crisis, how giving can guide the government's response to criminal justice, and how children and young people should have a seat at the table. Let's continue to work together to make change happen. #makingchange #philanthropy #givingstrategies https://lnkd.in/ewu7yTHS

✨ Hopestead’s Impact Report 2023-24 - #HopeFunds ✨ Watch the highlights from our Impact Report – this week, we’re focusing on #HopeFunds 🤝 Through Hope Funds, we’re supporting other charities, social enterprises and community groups with grants so they can amplify their activity and impact. Hope Funds supported: - 19 organisations - With more than £176,000 in funding - This led to more than 12,000 people being supported. Cambridgeshire-based homelessness support service Wintercomfort for the Homeless was one recipient of a Hope Funds grant. Hear from services manager Agnieszka Gada on the impact this had for them: 💬 “We provide service for rough sleepers and vulnerably housed adults. It's like a hub for support. “The Hopestead funding goes towards the employment cost so we can deliver services. It allows us to run, it allows us to run the projects.” #Hopestead #impact #impactreport #charity #homelessness #homelessnesssupport #endhomelessness #EastofEngland #EastAnglia

As some of you may have noticed, I don't often take to this platform. However, today, I'm breaking that habit for a cause that I believe deserves our collective attention and support. On 20 June, I'll be participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, an event aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat homelessness. It's a rare opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and into the shoes of those facing unimaginable challenges every day and night on the streets. Homelessness isn't just a statistic; it's a human experience marked by struggle and uncertainty. And while I may only spend one night sleeping rough, the impact of our collective efforts can extend far beyond that. So, I'm reaching out to you, to ask for your support. Your donation, regardless of size, will go directly towards providing shelter, food, and essential services to those in need. Please consider contributing to this cause by visiting https://lnkd.in/g3bsuQCV and making a donation. Your support makes a real and meaningful difference. #CommunitySupport #downerprofessionalservices #ceosleepoutau #housingcrisis #australia #homelessnessawareness #defenceindustry #puttingAustraliasinterestsfirst

We evaluated our support to #SmallButVital charities in the homelessness sector to understand its impact on people and communities. Housing and homelessness charities are a long-standing and significant part of our funding portfolio, and broadly representative of the small charities we support – they are often in the eye of the storm and feel the bluntest effects of austerity. We looked at the impact of our funding, development support and influencing work on people, charities, communities and society. The emerging findings continue to demonstrate the importance of strong relationships, unrestricted funding and building a thriving and resilient population of smaller charities against a backdrop of sustained deterioration in the underlying operating environment. At Adonis Partners, we believe that success is measured not only by what we achieve in the workplace but also by how we give back to people and their communities. This video highlights our efforts in transforming a local school in Los Palos, Dominican Republic by building safe infrastructure and creating spaces where children can learn and play. At our core, we are driven by a purpose: to share, serve, and create value for others. That’s why we donate over 20% of our profits annually to charities and community service organizations. We know that even the smallest action can spark meaningful change. Altogether, giving back is not just a responsibility—it’s a principle we live by—and the work we do in communities like Los Palos reflects our belief that when we come together, we can truly make an impact. #CommunityFirst #GivingBack #CorporateResponsibility

Three ways you can connect 🤝 with those experiencing homelessness: 1. A simple "hello" with eye contact can create a powerful connection, letting someone know you see them as a person of value and worth. Treating others with dignity is a POWERFUL gift. 2. Consider donating water, hygiene products, clothing, or other needed items to our Mission. We provide these items to our guests in need. 3. Calling Ontario Non-Profits! 🌟 Do you work or know people working in non-profits? On this Feel-Good Friday, please take a moment to share your thoughts in a brief survey about the sector's challenges. Take or share the survey and make a difference! #NonProfits #Ontario
We are thrilled to share our annual state of the sector survey: https://lnkd.in/gQ7yMbmh Why do we ask nonprofits to do this every year? Change is constant, whether that’s political, social, or policy related. Our advocacy for the sector’s changing realities needs to be built upon high-quality data; the well-being of our sector, and the communities we serve depends on it. Without data from ALL nonprofits, including charities, grassroots groups, volunteer-run organizations, nonprofit social enterprises, and nonprofit co-operatives in Ontario with a mission to serve a public benefit - we cannot paint an accurate picture of our shared struggles and opportunities for progress. If you require accommodations to complete the survey please email ONN Policy Analyst, Javil Joujoute at javil@theonn.ca.
