Focused Construction News’ Post

Vistry Group are working in partnership with Legal & General for Advisers Affordable Homes to deliver 272 new homes on the site of a former quarry. This project will help meet local housing needs, with 37 affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership and 99 more affordable homes as part of the development.   The site, located off Farleigh Hill on the former Tovil Quarry, presents unique challenges—having been a ragstone quarry since Roman times and later a landfill. However, thanks to our collaboration with On Grade Earthworks and Stabilisation Ltd, we’re transforming this complex site into a vibrant new community.   Brendan Evans, Managing Director at Vistry Kent said: “Our project at Tovil is an example of partnership working at its best. The site is complex and has its challenges but working with specialist contractor On Grade Earthworks and Stabilisation Ltd and construction consultants Calford Seaden we are meeting those challenges with high efficiency.” Construction on the new homes is set to begin in January 2025, we are excited to be building a community and leaving a positive impact on the local area.
