It was a pleasure to speak on a panel at Reuters NEXT Leadership Conference about building climate resilience and preparing businesses for a sustainable future. In this clip, I discuss moving away from short-termism and building toward longer-term investments – whether that’s thinking through where companies locate themselves to building a roof that won’t come off in a hurricane. The big opportunity is the incentive piece. The big opportunity is to move away from this flight to short termism and cheap kind of building infrastructure and operation to longer term investments and resilience. And that's everything from where companies choose to locate themselves to how they operate their facility and how they do business as a company. And so I think you know when we when we look even beyond the things that are insurable, companies market share their employee relations. The relations in the community, those are the kinds of things that companies don't want to be in the headlines for. Having a fire, having their facility flood, having their roof ripped off in a hurricane, which we know very well how to prevent. Those are the kinds of things that are solvable problems. The informations out there, it's publicly available. It just takes that mindset to move beyond the here and now and think a little bit more about tomorrow.
