The best way to express gratitude is by giving back. 💛 Volunteering is more than an act of kindness; it’s a way to say thank you to the world around us. But the numbers remind us there’s so much more we can do. With just 68,466 volunteers in India during National Volunteering Week, imagine the impact we could create if even more of us stepped up. Every small action counts: ✨ Inspire others by incentivizing volunteering in schools and workplaces. 🌱 Nurture change by supporting local community initiatives. 📣 Spread awareness by amplifying the power of volunteers through media. Let’s show our gratitude by creating a culture of giving back—where volunteering becomes a part of who we are, not just what we do. Together, we can make volunteering the norm, not the exception. Are you ready to make a difference? 🌟 #UnearthingDEIDialogues #GratitudeInAction #VolunteeringMatters #GiveBack #CommunityImpact #SStraightCircles #DEIInitiative SStraight Circles SStraight Circles Foundation

Do your employees organise their own volunteering? - you should read this: 💥Some of the biggest blockers for would-be volunteers are: 👉🏼 Overwhelm - so many charities, where to start? 👉🏼 Hassle of organising - it can take 2-3 months to hear back from a charity once you’ve reached out. 👉🏼 Expected time commitment - do I really have to take a FULL day out? So disruptive… 👉🏼 No easy, structured way to access impactful opportunities 🤔 Think about it: You wouldn't just tell your team "Hey, we offer therapy!" and leave them to find their own therapist, right? 💚 Volunteering should work the same way – using a volunteering platform makes it easy for your team to find amazing ways to give back! Just like mental health platforms, change-makers across the UK are turning to dedicated volunteering platforms to boost engagement and track the impact their team are creating 🌎 You can read more eye-opening stats on corporate volunteering here: https://lnkd.in/evxdKaKD ++++++++++++++++++++ 💥 Myth-busting Mondays are here! 🫶🏼 Follow Matchable Volunteering for more tips on volunteering, purpose and impact, one Monday at a time! #volunteering #employeevolunteering #charity #givingback #BCorp #techforgood #socialimpact

Volunteering makes the world a nicer place... It's volunteering week and as ever, the team are helping to find local people opportunities both within our projects and locally with trusted organisations. - Volunteering is a great stepping stone into or back into employment. Work experience, upskilling and building back after a break. - Volunteering is good for health & wellbeing. Physically & mentally a great way to stay in shape. A good way to meet and interact with others. Grow from the sense of giving. Restore your faith in others. - Volunteering helps support the systems that support vunerable people. Charities need volunteers to do the work that they do to underpin public services. Not everything can be a paid job or service...sometimes we just need to help others, because it is the right thing to do. We also hope that in our times of need, there will be volunteers to support us too. If you already volunteer or are an organisation / group that facilitates volunteering - well done and thank you! #charity #Solihull #volunteersweek #community #health

🎅 12 Days of Kindness and Gratitude Challenge: Day 9 🎅 As we continue spreading kindness and gratitude, today focuses on giving back to our community and supporting those in need. Day 9: Volunteer Your Time for a Community Event Volunteering not only positively impacts others but also enriches our lives through the experience of helping those in need. This Sunday, I will be out collecting donations for Age UK South Gloucestershire’s Heat or Eat appeal, a cause that is particularly close to my heart as a trustee. About the Heat or Eat Appeal: Age UK South Gloucestershire’s Heat or Eat appeal aims to support older adults who are facing difficult choices between heating their homes and having enough to eat. This vital campaign helps provide essential resources so that our elderly can have a warm and nourishing holiday season. **Why This Matters:** - Support Our Elders: Many older adults are struggling with basic needs, and community support can make a significant difference in their lives. - Create Community Bonds: Volunteering creates stronger community connections and a sense of solidarity. - Spread Kindness: Your time and efforts can bring warmth, comfort, and joy to those who need it the most during the festive season. - Check in on your elderly neighbours to make sure they are okay; it makes all the difference. How to Participate: 1️⃣ Find a local charity or community event where you can volunteer your time. 2️⃣ Engage in the activity and make a positive impact. 3️⃣ Share a picture or a short story about your experience in the comments. Join Us: If you're in South Gloucestershire, I invite you to join me this Sunday in supporting the Heat or Eat appeal. You will find me and others at the Asda store in Filton. Together, we can ensure that our elderly community members have a warm and joyful holiday season. 🌟 Engagement Incentive: Remember, the most inspiring and consistent participant across all 12 days will receive an exclusive TalkHR Club membership for 2025! Let’s spread positivity and create an encouraging work culture. Through acts of volunteering and community support, we can make a tangible difference. Let’s step up and spread the warmth and kindness this festive season. #CollaborationOverCompetition #Gratitude #Kindness #12DaysOfChristmas #HRConsultancy #HRConsulting #Challenge #Volunteer #HeatOrEat #AgeUKSG #SouthGloucestershire

Volunteering increases 50% around the holidays and drops dramatically after... These seasonal volunteers are a spectrum. Among them are the grinches of the non-profit world :). I’m talking about CGs. Convenient Givers: (noun) those who volunteer to meet some corporate social responsibility quota. Their volunteering is less about the mission and more about personal comfort—they only do it when it’s easy, on their own terms, and expecting a premium experience. As opposed to: Volunt-reals: selfless individuals who sacrifice their time and resources to support beautiful causes, often from the little they own. Yes, certain frustrations with nonprofits are legitimate, but remember that many nonprofits have limited resources. They need various professional services but can’t afford it. My advice is to approach volunteering with an open heart and a willingness to adapt. Go in not just to “feel good,” but to make a real difference. Give without conditions and trust that your contributions—whether big or small—will have a meaningful effect, both on the cause and in your own life. #volunteering #givingback

Myth ❌ “Volunteering is a waste of my time” Facts ✅ One of the biggest misconceptions about volunteering is that it isn't beneficial for the volunteers. However, NCVO found quite the opposite to be true. 92% of people who had given time volunteering in 2023 were satisfied with their experience, and 75% of people said that it had helped with their mental health and well-being. These stats show just how valuable volunteering can be for you, let alone the charity or organisation you are helping! 🤩 It's Volunteers Week 2024, so be sure to share this post to raise awareness of the amazing benefits volunteering brings! #volunteersweek #mythbusting

I did my first volunteering role around Christmas. I am not alone in thinking about volunteering around the festive period 🎄🎅🏻 We notice a decent increase in applicants around this time, as you can see from the below chart. As a charity or any organisation managing volunteers, it is worth redoubling your efforts around this time. Make sure you are as visible as ever because people are looking. Ask volunteers to tell their friends. Perhaps offer low effort entry points to volunteer on a more one off basis. Make is as easy as possible to come and help out. For many, they may dip their toe into volunteering around this time and catch the bug. At Volunteero we offer a recruitment element as part of our service. Our clients can post to our exclusive volunteering marketplace. This is on top of our market leading volunteer management platform. Our app is #1 on the App and Play Store... This is the way we believe people will find volunteering in future. If you'd like help with recruitment or volunteer management. Get in touch and learn more about what Volunteero can do for you. #volunteermanagement #volunteerrecruitment #charitydigital #volunteering
