From improving productivity to promoting sustainable development, #IGF is radically transforming the #IndustrialWorld and becoming one of the hottest topics globally. In April 2024, the #HannoverMesse, Germany's leading industrial fair, took place, where global industrial leaders gathered to showcase cutting-edge products and innovations in the field of #IGF. It is one of the largest international events in the industrial sector and is known as the "barometer of global industrial development." Nearly 4,000 exhibitors from about 60 countries and regions participated in this year's edition. Among them, #Chinese exhibitors accounted for 30 percent of the participants, second only to the host country, #Germany. More than 500 exhibitors from the #Hydrogen and #FuelCell industries showcased their innovations in energy solutions. #Siemens AG (ETR: SIE) introduced the first #AIG product for engineering in an industrial environment. #Siemens #Industrial #Copilot, the #AIG-based assistant, is now seamlessly connected to the Fully Integrated #Automation Portal. “With #Industrial #Copilot, we will increase the number of people along the entire value chain, from design to planning to an engineer to operations,” Eric Scepanski, a technical expert at #Siemens, told Xinhua. “It helps us discover errors and find better solutions for them much faster,” said Cedrik Neike, CEO of the #Digital #Industries division. #Simple actions like drag-and-drop operations enable fast and flexible #Segmentation without the need to rewrite #Code.” Software company #SAP (ETR: SAP) announced #AIG advancements in its #Supply chain solutions "that will unleash a transformative wave of productivity, efficiency, and accuracy in #Manufacturing." 10 main messages I took from #hm24 HANNOVER MESSE 1. Futuristic "#scifi" solutions are finding their way to the #shopfloor, manufacturing is becoming more attractive for talent 2. Large manufacturers world-wide build #pilot factories to test new digitization use cases, increasingly finding good #RoI and #scalable solutions 3. The #cost of #digital solutions for #manufacturing is dropping, but manufacturing #SMEs are have been left out in awe, still rarely finding sufficient RoI 4. The data use cases in manufacturing arise with ongoing digitization, partnerships, #datasharing, and manufacturers are learning to work with external SaaS IT and #digitalplatforms 5. The landscape of IT / data suppliers is complex and manufacturers often struggle to find the right suppliers. Growing #networks of verified solutions such as EIT Manufacturing or #EDIH but also trusted experienced consultants can help mainly SMEs to navigate the space 6. #AI disrupts a range of manufacturing company functions. The most significant may soon be an AI-powered #Manufacturingexecutionsystem with no CAPEX 100x faster than in 2020.
