Quick poll for our engineers: Did you play a team sport growing up? 🤔 At JAKTOOL, we found that many of our employees didn’t. Team sports teach invaluable skills for the workforce, such as understanding coworkers, anticipating needs, and collaborating towards a common goal. If engineers aren't learning these skills early, they often develop them during their first co-op or job. Managers should recognize that these "basics" might require additional development. We dive deeper into this topic and so much more on JAKTALK 👉 https://loom.ly/mUn66mo ________________________________________________ #engineeringpodcast #manufacturingpodcast #engineering #prototyping #defensemanufacturing #productdevelopment #producttesting #medicalmanufacturing #medicaldevices #medicalprototype #productdevelopment #producttesting

Simplifying your product pitch down to 60-90 sec is a fun exercise and will have the added benefit of helping you hone in on the most important things about your product. Which you can then use toward your product strategy. I was just working with Gabrielle Jones yesterday trying to get the pitch for Katalyst Space Technologies' SDA software suite, ARC, down to only 60 sec. Try as we might, we couldn't take our standard pitch, which is usually like 5 min, down to just 1 min. After multiple rounds of trying, I was like, "we don't need all this." Remember the audience and the specific scenario. This person is only going to care about X, not Y and Z. If they want to know more about Y and Z they will ask. Focus on X first. With that, 60 sec became easy and we nailed the presentation. And, low and behold, he asked about Y and Z. I also now know that X is something we should be highlighting more and putting more product development towards in the future.
