4 things to keep in mind when picking your next running shoe! 👟 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 Just like runners, not all shoes are created equal. With different running gaits and styles, runners may overpronate, underpronate, heel strike, or land on their midfoot, requiring specific shoe models to accommodate their unique needs. The best way to ensure you're getting the right shoe for your feet is to visit your local running store and have them assess your gait. They can recommend shoes that provide the necessary support and stability based on your running style. 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 Feet tend to swell throughout the day, so it's advisable to shop for shoes in the evening when your feet are at their largest. This helps prevent buying shoes that might feel too snug during your evening runs, potentially leading to discomfort or blisters. 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲 Different shoe brands use different molds and sizing systems, making shoe sizes inconsistent. Instead of relying solely on shoe size, measure your foot length in centimeters and look for shoes that correspond to that measurement for a better fit. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 While a higher price tag doesn't always equate to better quality, excessively cheap shoes may lack the necessary features for optimal performance and comfort. Keep an eye out for discounts on your favorite shoe models, but remember that consistently low prices may indicate bad quality. #RunningShoes #RunningTips #Fitness #RunnersLife

The Altra Running Escalante Racer 2 is Altra's lowest stack shoe, designed for faster training and racing. Altra says the main update to the shoe is a new engineered mesh upper, keeping the 22mm stack height, Altra Ego midsole, Original FootShape toe box (Altra's widest), and zero drop the same as version 1. Strangely, according to Altra's website, the women's version has gained 0.7 oz over version 1 and the men's has gained 2.0 oz, with the men's version 2 weighing 8.8oz and women's 6.4oz. Version 2 has a much stiffer platform than v1, with a noticeable lack of forefoot flexibility that completely changed the ride of the shoe for me (Andrea), decreasing its performance at faster paces for me. The Altra Escalante 2 is a neutral, zero drop, stiff shoe that performs differently from its more flexible, lighter-weight predecessor. What type of running shoes should I buy... Man, is this a hot topic in the running world! There are hundreds, if not thousands of different styles of shoes out there, all serving a different purpose, a different style, a different foot-landing-pattern, the lost goes on and on and on… So how do you pick the right shoe for you? There are actually only 2 main factors you need to pay attention to. 1. Purpose. and… 2. Comfort. That’s it. See the thing is that some shoes will serve a particular purpose better than others. So be sure to pay attention to, or ask in-shop what the shoe that you like was actually designed for. If it fits your purpose, try it on. From there, you need to gauge comfort. And when I say this, you need to be like the Princess and the Pea. Absolutely be as fussy and finicky as you like. If it’s too narrow remember that your foot may swell on a longer run so it will be narrower, if there’s a spot that rubs even slightly when walking in-shop, think about how that will exacerbate over an, maybe 2 hours of running. All those tiny details matter. Comfort is GOD when it comes to buying shoes. So don’t be overwhelmed, just follow these 2 golden rules to find the perfect shoe for you. **Bonus Tip** Whenever I am purchasing a shoe I haven’t worn before, I will always do my best to try it on in person before I buy it. That way I can comfortably give it a “pass” or “fail” in the comfort test. Once I know I like it, then I’m happy to purchase it online. Happy running!

The New York Times recently spotlighted the subculture of premium running brands and niche running crews redefining today’s running world. When the mainstream catches on, does it signal the trend’s peak—or give it momentum? Typically, mainstream media attention suggests a trend’s move from early adopters to the early majority. In other words, the trend has not peaked, but it is near. In this instance, I expect running crews to continue influencing the edgy side of running culture. However, at some point, consumer fatigue with high prices may kick in. My take on where this might evolve next? More DIY apparel—think custom pieces, runner-modified gear, and performance apparel infused with art and style. Definitely something to keep an eye on! #running #apparel #footwear #RunningCulture #BrandTrends #PerformanceApparel #TrendForecast https://buff.ly/4fGPmse
