Reflections on Uncertainty from the Cool Farm Alliance Annual Event 2024 ... Annie Leeson, Kim ten Wolde, and Tom Sadan recently attended the meeting, where thought leaders and stakeholders gathered to discuss sustainable agriculture's pressing challenges and opportunities. It is greatly encouraging to see the openness and willingness among participants to engage, listen, and learn from one another. This collaborative environment is crucial as we forge paths towards a sustainable agricultural sector. Reflecting on the discussions, it's evident that many organisations are grappling with how to scale sustainability across their complex supply chains effectively. A primary challenge highlighted was the difficulty corporates face with uncertainty. In a world that demands precision, the unpredictability inherent in agriculture – with its numerous stakeholders and natural variables – will remain constant, and that’s ok. What a year for Agreena and Europe’s leading soil carbon program, which operates in 20 countries and aids over 2,300 farmers in transitioning 4.5 million hectares of farmland to regenerative practices! Agreena has launched innovative partnerships with industry leaders such as Mars, IFC, and Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, advancing a shared vision for a sustainable food system. The acquisition of Fieldmargin marks significant progress in helping farmers scale regenerative agriculture across Europe.

We were honored to attend the 13th World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit in London from September 30 to October 1, where innovation and transformative business models took center stage. This year’s summit underscored the essential role of supply chain partnerships in fostering climate-resilient agriculture. Our very own Luc Beerens shared our efforts to help advance the regenerative agriculture transition. During a panel with industry experts, he highlighted the shift from traditional agricultural practices to regenerative methods that support farmers in enhancing soil health, biodiversity, carbon management, and climate resilience. As I wrap up 2024 and gear up for 2025, I rewatched Agreena's end-of-year video, and it's incredible to see how far we have come over the last 12 months. This was the year we demonstrated, through our partnerships with many of the largest and most forward-thinking industry leaders, how our verified outcomes help bridge the gap between farmers and industry. It was also the year we released our Ag+ suite of products to help companies take action and improve the sustainability of their supply chain and monitor & measure the impact of adopted practices beyond a carbon footprint by quantifying additional benefits. There is still a way to go before regenerative farming becomes the new norm, but this year we set the foundations to make 2025 the year of acceleration with the launch of several new products which will drive deeper value for both farmers and corporations.
