*** The Top 10 largest SAF projects by their 2030 capacity *** • Global sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production and consumption are set to grow at a CAGR of 44% between 2020 and 2035 • In terms of production, North America is set to increase its production the most, with its capacity growing at a CAGR of 60% between 2020 and 2035 • In 2024 YTD, Europe ranked third for #SAF production (approximately 450,000 tonnes) but strong EU and UK policy on the technology, will allow SAF production capacity to substantially increase in the next decade • In terms of consumption, the region with the predicted highest growth is Asia. Its SAF consumption, which only began in 2022, is set to grow at a CAGR of 100% between 2022 and 2035 • On top of oil and gas companies, airlines have also been investing in SAFs. #Airbus, #VirginAtlantic, #AirFrance, #KLM, and #Norwegian have all been investing in SAFs • However, while production is set to grow globally, the current landscape is failing to show a capacity scale-up rapid enough to meet regions’ blending targets and #netzero ambitions. The chart below shows the top 10 largest SAF production projects by 2030 #aviationfuel #jetA1 #energytransition

I was honoured to provide my contribution to the panel on: "Innovations and Challenges in LNG Adoption for Global Transportation" at the Alj's 6th LNG Global Forum in Barcelona today, well managed by Gonzalo Cabrera. Besides the already progressing growth of LNG use for HD ground vehicles and and maritime applications, I highlighted to fact that "the Sky is not a limit" for LNG; as LNG has already replaced Hydrogen for rockets applications (SpaceX's Starship) and aircrafts (Tupolev T-155 in the 1980's) and it is considered as "non-drop-in" sustainable aviation fuel (SAS) by relevant Boeing and Airbus programs https://lnkd.in/d5SaRrY6

Neste has commissioned terminal capacity at ONEOK’s terminal in Houston, Texas for blending and storing Neste #MYSustainableAviationFuel. This is a significant step in expanding the availability of Neste’s #SAF to airlines operating from airports east of the Rocky Mountains. Consequently, this expansion reaches to the East Coast. The new capacity at ONEOK’s terminal in Houston provides Neste with storage for up to 100,000 tons (33.5 million gallons). This terminal is directly connected to the #energypipelineinfrastructure in the eastern U.S. In 2022, Neste demonstrated its ability to supply SAF to New York’s #LaGuardiaAirport using existing fuel distribution infrastructure. Additionally, in September 2023, #Neste expanded its capability to supply #renewablefuels on the West Coast. Specifically, they commissioned terminal capacity in Los Angeles, California.
