In Brussels new leadership deals are underway. Mrs. Van Der Leyen will provide most likely continuity but new challenges are before all EU institutions. Visible and more take of EU policies over member countries wellbeing is new tenor. Voters asked for more information about dedication to matters most important for their lives. No democracy and demographic transition is possible without long-term development policies. EU format of policy has done a lot related to energy in 2022 faced with crisis. No crisis is with affordable housing. Affordable energy storage potential. Affordable prices when it comes to food. This is what is vital for Europeans 🇪🇺 according to voting. Monitoring of food and energy prices already in place. Recent comparisons of EU housing affordability was quite shocking. So far EU Greendeal has done a lot but making everything more expensive and carbon taxable before alternatives are deployed are creating havoc for average standard and below Europeans. EU has introduced a lot of flexibility and improvements into EU ETS but big changes with EU ETS 2 are ahead and EU nature conservation still is not entirely balanced with agriculture concerns according to relative winners manifest on related matters. https://lnkd.in/dGtFYvtq

The European Union consists of 27 member states, down from 28 as a result of Brexit. But while Britain quit the bloc following the 2016 referendum, there are several notable nations which never actually joined the continental club in the first place. Three of them - Switzerland, Norway and Iceland - are the subjects of a video shared on the EU Made Simple YouTube channel, which boasts more than 80,000 subscribers. And there remains the remote possibility of two of them signing up, narrator Lambertus Robben suggests the prospect of a third doing so is a long shot to say the very least. Norway has made attempts to join the EU on two notable occasions, the video’s narrator explains. Iceland, the chilly island lodged between the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, applied to join the EU in 2009 in the aftermath of the financial crisis, with many believing membership might offer greater economic stability. The Swiss, with their longstanding tradition of neutrality, have shown little interest in joining the bloc. https://lnkd.in/dCCAQTJB

Today you can see this 30 page political programme of the European Commission for the next 5 years. It is the conclusion and summary of the Eurepean election process. Many specific ideas to study. For example the urgent need for the "savings and investment union", meaning fewer weird natinoal ryules for the capital markets which means that the savings of Europeans are widely invested in companies in other parts of the world. Or a new EU effort to promote better housing for everybody. https://lnkd.in/exmZ5-ss

🚨 Breaking news: with 401 votes in favour, Ursula von der Leyen has been re-elected President of the European Commission. In her political guidelines for the next European Commission, the President-elect notably calls for a new "#CleanIndustrialDeal for competitive industries and quality jobs" to be proposed in the first 100 days of the mandate. She also announces her will to "revise EU State aid rules to enable housing support measures, especially for affordable energy-efficient and social housing." We look forward to this new EU term, which will have to focus on the implementation of the #Fitfor55 package, while boosting EU competitiveness and guaranteeing a just transition. 📸 : European Parliament

Such a good list of government successes and bailouts to failures. This Future Made in Australia Act is exactly the type of risk we need to be taking.. the only work of “free” markets in Australia is keeping the ones tax free for global oligopolies. The cost of Renewable energy is declining faster than anyone thought. A great input to future makers.
Coalition media was fast out of the blocks to bag Albo's Future Made in Australia Act. Fossil attacks will persist until the Election. Here's why it makes sense #auspol https://lnkd.in/gMS3VGNj
