Amazon's *The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power* is the most expensive TV show ever, costing $1 billion for its first season, with $465 million spent on production alone. Each episode cost $58 million, far surpassing the budget of the most expensive film, *Star Wars: The Force Awakens* ($447 million).
