Entrepreneurial education in most economies continues to be assessed as poor by national entrepreneurship experts, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2023/2024 Global Report, titled 25 Years and Growing Indicators like entrepreneurial education, have not changed much over time, thus requiring further action from policymakers and other stakeholders. 🌍 Strengthening youth entrepreneurship globally: last week I joined the 4th workshop of the Youth Entrepreneurship Policy Academy (YEPA). This initiative created by the OECD-OCDE & the European Commission brings together insights from international experts alongside testimonials from young entrepreneurs. 🇪🇺 It's an ideal format for shaping relevant policies and programs that address real-world challenges. This session focused on three key themes: 👉 How can we build effective networks for young entrepreneurs? 👉 How can youth take ownership of those networks? 👉 How can governments better support youth organizations? By fostering direct dialogue between policymakers, experts, and young entrepreneurs, YEPA is creating a development model grounded in practical and realistic solutions. This initiative leads a new way of answering global challenges by connecting each stakeholders to directly generate impactful measures. Congrats to the organization team and the contributors for this insightful and meaningful session. Excited to share our latest publication titled "The Entrepreneurial Intention-Action Relationships among Young Entrepreneurs: A Taxonomy-Based Perspective"! 📝 Entrepreneurial intentions have long been a subject of study, but what about the crucial link between intention and action? In our paper, we delve into this often overlooked area, particularly focusing on the Middle East/North African (MENA) region. One key finding? The significant impact of university contextual factors on students' likelihood to actively pursue entrepreneurship versus merely dreaming or procrastinating. Specifically, entrepreneurial-oriented learning programs emerge as a powerful catalyst in reducing the probability of students abstaining from entrepreneurship altogether. By shedding light on the nuanced nature of entrepreneurial decision-making, our study challenges the conventional "all-or-nothing" framework often applied in past research. Instead, we advocate for a more comprehensive understanding of the stepwise commitment inherent in the entrepreneurial process. This research contributes valuable insights to the field of entrepreneurship, particularly in the MENA region. Designed to foster the growth of socially conscious entrepreneurs, the A2S EEP aims to provide invaluable support in transforming innovative ideas into thriving enterprises while fostering the expansion of small businesses. Key Points to Consider Before Applying: ▫ Application is strictly for business owners who reside and run their businesses in Benin City ▫Business must be viable, scalable, sustainable and feasible. ▫Loan application must not exceed 3 million Naira ▫The business location must be in Benin City. ▫There must be a minimum of 3 in a team/group. ▫Winners must go through the incubator/mentorship program. ▫Existing businesses must have CAC registration. ▫Businesses must have a guarantor who resides and runs his/her business or job in Benin City ▫Winners have a 6-month moratorium and 2 years to pay back after funds have been disbursed The date and time for the pre-pitch and actual pitch will be communicated to the top 6 entrepreneurs selected for the competition.
