I've always loved the idea of being an entrepreneur but have never felt like I had "the right" idea to start something on my own. That's one of the many reasons I love working at The Executive Centre -- we are always being pushed to innovate and are given the platform to create new business opportunities.
Last year I launched our in house creative agency #TECCreate, which offers full service creative and production capabilities to our Members, partners, and even external clients.
Most recently we had the opportunity to support one of our landlord partners Singapore Land Group Limited and collaborated with them to develop a video series to document the inspirational refurbishment of their iconic Singapore Land Tower in the heart of Singapore's CBD.
Worldwide, buildings are responsible for 37% of global carbon emissions and 34% of energy demand. Other environmental impacts of buildings include resource depletion, air, water and land pollution and biodiversity loss. I'm so pleased that we're really starting to see an investment in green buildings, but to build a new sustainable building is a lot easier than bringing an old one up to the current #ESG standards. One of the biggest challenges that the corporate real estate industry faces is our mature assets, and often the solution is to just tear old assets down and start again, but what impact does that have on the environment? LOTS of waste.
That's why I find this project so inspiring; instead of tearing down a 40 year old icon, Singapore Land Group decided to refurbish it from the ground up, with their tenants still inside. This first video introduces the vision and strategy behind this approach, and I encourage you to take a look because it shows what impact can truly be made when people are willing to invest both the time and resources.
Lesson here: the harder road will take more time, often more money, but the long term impact will be much more significant.

TEC Create, our bespoke marketing and creative service, has launched a collaboration with Singapore Land Group Limited to develop an engaging video series celebrating the rich history, development, and rejuvenation of the iconic 42-year-old Singapore Land Tower (SLT), where TEC also provides flexible workspace solutions.
The series offers a captivating journey through the past, present, and future of this historic landmark. The recently released first video transports viewers to early 20th-century Singapore, highlighting Raffles Place as the birthplace of the city’s commercial development—the very site where the building stands today. It provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at SLT’s ongoing Asset Enhancement Initiative, with insights from the visionary minds shaping its sustainable transformation into a cutting-edge office tower.
Watch the first video in the series below and stay tuned for upcoming episodes featuring SLT’s versatile amenities, firsthand accounts from key figures involved in the renovation, and more.
