🌎 We witnessed the magic of our global network in Kenya this month when E4C Fellows convened at ASME ISHOW Kenya. Current and former E4C Fellows met with the finalists and other ASME ISHOW participants in support of the local innovation community. They facilitated roundtable discussions and review sessions between entrepreneurs and experts, and they had the opportunity to meet with Kamau Gachigi (Executive Director of Gearbox), Thomas Costabile (Executive Director of ASME), Iana Aranda (President of E4C), and several of our E4C staff including Jonathan K. and Leah Putman. Conversations touched on Impact projects, career paths, goals, and interests. The ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) ISHOW program plays a crucial role in empowering hardware-led social innovation. By connecting innovators with resources and expertise, it accelerates solutions that address sustainable development global challenges. E4C Fellows support ISHOW each year by facilitating conversations and helping to capture key insights for the innovators based on their own technical knowledge. 👉 How do you think networking opportunities influence innovation? Share your thoughts and let's discuss! #E4CFellows #SustainableDevelopment #EngineeringForGood #InnovationForImpact #ASMEISHOW #ASME

The engineering profession takes pride in its commitment to volunteerism, which is evident through the work of PEO’s 36 Chapters. Learn more about our chapter volunteers and their accomplishments. #NationalVolunteerWeek2024 #NVW2024
CEO & Registrar | Board Director | Regulatory Excellence | Corporate Strategy | WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women | Harvard Business School
Chapters are the local presence for Professional Engineers Ontario across the province. Organized into 5 regions, the 36 Chapters promote the value of engineering to local communities and provide an important link between licence holders, EITs and PEO Council. Often the first point of contact for aspiring engineers, Chapters provide invaluable support to their members through networking events, organizing licence certificate ceremonies, and professional development opportunities. I would like to highlight a few accomplishments from last year: -In 2023, chapter volunteers handed out 1175 framed licence certificates at 60 ceremonies and hosted over 300 chapter events that clocked 15,750 reserved tickets. -150 volunteers came together in November to participate in the 2023 Chapter Leaders Conference and GLP Training Summit; two events that were made possible by the commitment and passion of 16 volunteers on the planning committees. We commend our Chapters for their role in promoting engineering, STEM education and careers in communities across Ontario. No matter your role or location, we’re grateful for your contributions and efforts. #NationalVolunteerWeek2024 #NVW2024

Pakistan has achieved significant #success in engineering #education, receiving international acclaim for its standards. The country has been re-elected as a permanent member of the Washington Accord, a prominent global #engineering forum, for another six-year term. The International Engineering Alliance (IEA) endorsed the extension of Pakistan’s membership during a recent meeting. The decision was made unanimously over a two-day session held in #NewDelhi. Unfortunately, the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) delegation faced #visa refusals and were denied an NOC by #India on the final day, preventing their physical attendance at the meeting. Despite these #challenges, Pakistan's representation at the #IEA was robustly supported by Turkey, #China, and Hong Kong. These nations presented Pakistan’s case, with PEC officials participating remotely. The PEC's accreditation standards and procedures were thoroughly evaluated by #Turkey, China, and #HongKong. The PEC noted that the unanimous decision to renew its signatory status for another six years was based on a favorable #compliance report with Washington Accord guidelines. This significant #achievement reflects the #leadership of PEC Chairman Engr M Najeeb Haroon, EAB Convener Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, and the entire #PEC management and governing body. Special #acknowledgement was given to the PEC WA #Review Committee, led by Dr Fazal Khalid, for their #dedication and guiding principles. Since becoming a permanent member of the #WashingtonAccord in 2017, #Pakistan has played a key role in #supporting other countries in gaining membership. This year, both the #Philippines and #Bangladesh were successfully inducted, increasing the total number of member countries to 25. #AcademiaMag #Edutainment #AcademiaNews #CareerGuide #AcademiaUrdu # #AcademiaTV

Shoal Group Pty Ltd today celebrated the agreement with Engineers Australia for access to its Engineering Workforce Credentialling (EWC) Program. The agreement with Engineers Australia signals Shoal’s #commitment to maintaining engineering and professional #standards. This is important in the development of Shoal’s engineers, providing them a path and support to attain Chartered Professional Engineer (#CPEng) status. It also provides access to an extensive library of resources and papers, opportunities to join technical colleges, societies, and interest groups, and the ability to attend networking and training events. These credentials are also critical as States and Territories introduce #registration requirements for the provision of professional engineering services. Shoal has recently supported over 30 engineers to attain Chartered Status. In addition to the EWC, Shoal participates in the #EngineersAustralia Graduate and Emerging Leaders programs. As part of the EWC Senior Engineering Managers in Shoal who are already CPEng can receive support in attaining Engineering Executive (#EngExec). At the signing were Matthew Wylie (Shoal, Head of Engineering), Shaun Wilson (Shoal, CEO), Jan Irvine (Engineers Australia, General Manager South Australia), Dr Derek Rogers (Shoal, Chief Engineer), and Jason Thornhill (Engineers Australia, Senior Client Manager SA & NT). #digitalengineering #systemsengineering #modellingandsimulation #complexsystems
