The Annual HardTech Summit was another great success! Canada’s leading summit focused on hardware, semiconductor, medtech, AI and automobility was led by our regional innovation partner, ventureLAB and York Link | York Region Economic Development. We were thrilled to partake in the event as a contributing partner. In addition to insightful keynote speeches from Hugh Chow - CEO of ventureLAB, Richard “Dick” Thurston (杜東佑) - Chairman and CEO of Hudson Valley Fast Fab, Mark Miller - Executive Chairman of Volaris Group, and many more, four York Region #YRtech based companies advanced to the HardTech Pitch Competition finals: ◾ VIBRAINT - a proudly Canadian venture dedicated to making the impossible possible by helping 120 million paralyzed regain motion ◾ VCycene Inc. – a cleantech company transforming household food waste into valuable resources with innovative AI-powered solutions ◾ Kimia Analytics – a company that aims to be the first to address significant data gaps and technological barriers in tackling the global PFAS crisis ◾ Cattle Scan – a rumen bolus system that identifies cows with illness early. Cattle Scan assists in increasing milk production, reducing treatment costs, and optimizing labour on farms Congratulations to Cattle Scan for winning first place and Kimia Analytics for winning second place!
