Here's how this works. ⤵️ 💭Awareness without control means you notice your breathing patterns but don't actively use them to influence your well-being or adjust them to your current circumstances. 💭Control without awareness can feel forced or disconnected from your natural rhythm. This is the point: you can only modify what you are aware of, and then you can consciously alter your breath to match what is needed in your current situation. What do you do when you feel drained? Many folks reach for the coffee ☕ or try to catch a nap 😴 . But this doesn't work since the tiredness is often not in your body but in your soul. I've been thinking about this a lot lately because so many folks around me complain about feeling exhausted. So what to do? 3 things 💜 1. Take a closer look at your environment. Quite often our tiredness is not because we have low iron levels but because we are sitting in chaotic environments. Those spaces just drain the life out of you with their instability and drama. If you can get out. Get out. If not point out the real culprit in your environment so you know not to gaslight yourself into thinking it's you. 💛 2. Watch and cut your consumption. It's easy to stuff our faces with junk food or our minds with mindless internet scrolling as a way to relax. But this type of consumption has the opposite effect. This type of consumption consumes us. This type of consumption drains our energy and life. We've got to watch and cut our consumption when we feel drained if we're going to get our sense of spark back. 💜 3. Create. I know it can seem counterintuitive that just when you feel drained is the time to create but trust me on this. Creating energizes. Creating is to the soul what breathing is to the body. If you're feeling drained it's probably because you're in somebody else's drama (some person or some job) and you're consuming that junk (and some junk food) and not creating enough. Cut off their drama and focus on minding your own business by creating something with your gifts. You'll watch the life leap right back into you! Feeling drained is no fun and is truly a waste of life. Don't let it go on any longer! I share more about this in the latest Reframe to Create Episode 90 "What to Do When You Feel Drained". See the link in the comments. #ReframeToCreate #CreateOwnStorytell #ReStoried #LivingPurposefully

Are you daring enough to slash the habit that's stealing your joy or time? We all have our share of bad habits. Whether it's reaching for that extra cookie after dinner, or spending just a few too many hours on Netflix. We justify these habits by telling ourselves it's 'just this one time' or 'I'll start fresh tomorrow.' Sound familiar? But what if tomorrow is today? What if that one time is now? It's time to take back control. It's time to break those chains. So, here's my challenge to you reading this now: Identify that single habit that's a thief in your life. Cut it out. I dare you to start now. Your future self will thank you. #motivation #mentalhealth #wellbeing

As we begin to enter into the colder months and start to spend more time inside we often turn to shows and movies to help fill our time. With the seemingly unlimited amount of streaming options available we can easily binge-watch as many shows as we’d like. Research has shown that binge-watching shows can lead to depression, anxiety, isolation, and interference with sleep and other daily activities. Here are 3 tips on how to balance your streaming in a healthy way: 1. Make sure to set a time limit: Set limits for the amount of time you are allowed to watch or set a limit for the number of episodes you will watch in one sitting. 2. Create a healthy balance with your streaming: Balance out the amount of time you spend watching with another activity such as physical exercise or a personal hobby. 3. Keep those lights on: Keeping the lights on wherever you are watching helps to prevent you from losing track of time. Looking for more help? Contact The Better Insitute: https://loom.ly/B44JoKw
