As Element continues its partnerships with the great NGO’s like WeForest 🌿 and WWF, we want to take the occasion of today's @UN's #InternationalDayofForests to celebrate their projects around reforestation and forest protection around the world. As we are well aware, making skateboards from wood has an impact on forests. So in working with WWF / WWF-France and WeForest 🌿, we are continually learning about the importance of protecting and conserving our forests and how important these ecosystems are to all lifeforms who depend on them, from plants and animals to humans beings. To learn more about what we are doing with our partners in regards to forest-minded initiatives, please visit our partners' websites and social media channels. Be sure to stay tuned regarding updates with the specific projects we are helping to support. Thank you 🌱 🌲 🌍 https://www.wwf.fr/ https://lnkd.in/gDrW8AQ https://www.weforest.org/ If Not Now, When? 🌍🌿 A third of all plant and animal species are threatened with extinction. Yet there is hope: for example, the global tiger population has increased by almost 20% in ten years thanks to conservation efforts. At WWF, we're working to protect biodiversity here and around the world. And Belgium is also committed in this direction. We need to ... 🛡️ Legally protect 30% of marine and terrestrial areas 🔗 Connect natural areas with each other 📑 Ensure we have clear objectives for nature management. How much would this cost Belgium? Just 0.48% of the annual budget allocated to fossil fuels! Humans only thrive if nature thrives. Let's act together for a sustainable future. 🌱💚 Visit our platform and find out how to #DoItWithNature: FR: https://lnkd.in/e7xGHGT5 NL: https://lnkd.in/ecDZYxg6

Today, the world is celebrating Earth Hour Day, an annual event organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to raise awareness about environmental issues. This year marks the 18th Earth Hour, with the theme-Uniting for Our One Shared Home. The biggest Earth Hour encourages people worldwide to turn off their lights for 60 minutes from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. as a symbolic gesture of support for our planet. The objective is to engage as many individuals as possible, especially those who may not yet be fully aware of the environmental crisis we face. To commemorate Earth Hour, a special anthem has been released by WWF, composed by Shantanu Moitra and sung by Papon. The lyrics by Tanveer Ghazi evoke the beauty of nature and the shared responsibility we all have in protecting it. Requesting all to switch off lights and relax with moonlight. #earthhour #environmentalpollution #climatechange #environmentalawareness #wwf #energyconservation

Poweful video by Steve Cutts on what will happen if roles of humans and animals changed! In the last century alone, we have witnessed the extinction of over 600 species, with many more on the brink. According to the World Wildlife Fund, we have lost 68% of the world's wildlife populations since 1970. This staggering decline is not just a statistic; it’s a clarion call for change. Our insatiable appetite for resources has led to habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change, pushing countless species to the edge. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) reports that nearly 28,000 species are currently threatened with extinction. This crisis is a direct result of unsustainable living practices, including deforestation for agriculture, overfishing, and urban sprawl. As professionals, we must recognize that our choices—whether in business, consumption, or lifestyle—have far-reaching implications. The biodiversity we are losing is not just about the animals; it's about the ecosystems that support life on Earth, including our own. Let’s challenge ourselves to rethink our impact. How can we adopt sustainable practices in our industries? How can we advocate for policies that prioritize ecological balance? The time for action is now. We must be the stewards of our planet, not its destroyers. Together, we can turn the tide on this crisis. Let’s lead the charge for a more sustainable future—one where humans and wildlife can coexist harmoniously. #Sustainability #WildlifeConservation #ClimateAction #Biodiversity #CorporateResponsibility

The health of humans, animals, and the environment are deeply connected. The approach known as One Health considers this and discusses how important it is that we sustainably balance and optimize the health of people, plants, animals, and ecosystems. WWF just released a new report today about the importance and strategies for integrating the One Health approach in conservation to sustain nature and keep communities healthy and resilient. A healthy planet is one where we consider health across disciplines and address the key drivers of disease spillover, such as deforestation and high-risk wildlife trade. 🌊🐟 WWF Sweden Addressing the Decline of Predatory Fish The Stockholm archipelago, once teeming with life, now faces a stark reality: dwindling stocks of predatory fish threaten the delicate balance of our marine #ecosystem. Predators like pikes and perches play a vital role in maintaining the health and diversity of underwater life, yet their populations are declining. In a collaborative effort to reverse this trend, WWF Sweden, alongside Kungliga Djurgårdens förvaltningen and the City of Stockholm, is spearheading a groundbreaking project in Isbladsviken Bay: constructing an artificial reef. Reefs, whether natural or artificial, serve as crucial sanctuaries for marine life, mitigating the impacts of heavy boat traffic and providing vital spawning grounds for fish. Creating these habitats aims to bolster predatory fish populations and restore equilibrium to our waters. Dive into this project and learn more about WWF Sweden’s endeavour to safeguard marine ecosystems and preserve the biodiversity of the Baltic Sea: https://lnkd.in/dTfnifej Together, we can make a difference. #PredatoryFish #Conservation #Sustainability Världsnaturfonden WWF / WWF Sweden #BalticSea #MarineConservation Yvonne Blombäck HELCOM - Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission EU Environment and Climate Baltic Sea Action Group, BSAG

🐯Roaring for International Tiger Day on July 29th! According to WWF, since the day’s inception in 2010, when the 13 tiger range countries united to launch Tx2—the ambitious goal to double the population of wild tigers by 2022—this day has served as a rallying cry for conservation efforts around the globe. 🌍As ecosystems become destabilized due to #ClimateChange, the flora and fauna that sustain tigers and their prey suffer, impacting their populations. For instance, changes in monsoon patterns can lead to droughts or flooding that disrupt the delicate food chain, putting additional stress on tiger habitats. Therefore, protecting tigers is synonymous with protecting the rich biodiversity of their ecosystems, which in turn is vital for combating climate change. 📕As Marco Lambertini, Director General of WWF, emphasized, “Doubling tigers is about tigers, about the whole of nature—and it’s also about us.” Investing in tiger conservation initiatives can lead to sustainable practices that benefit local communities, promote eco-tourism, and improve resilience against climate impacts.
