A thriving, healthy and circular city begins with an idea. Digital Innovation Challenges are open competitions supporting innovation and collaboration. They help test digital solutions that tackle important city challenges. Fishermans Bend is Australia’s largest urban renewal project covering approximately 480 hectares in the heart of Melbourne. By 2050 it will be a buzzing precinct, home to approximately 80,000 residents with around 80,000 workers. This urban renewal project provides an exciting opportunity to collaboratively explore how we can harness data and emerging technologies to enable our city spaces to thrive now and in the future. Following the success of the 2022 Challenge, and resulting Remix Raingardens pilot, we are inviting all eligible entrepreneurs, community groups, social enterprises, universities, researchers, start-ups, scale-ups and established organisations to submit their brave and brilliant ideas ready for piloting in Melbourne’s oldest innovation precinct. https://lnkd.in/gje6xiA5 #regenerativedevelopments #climatesmartliving #melbourneinnovationprecinct #fishermansbend #regenerativechallenge

🌍 Focus on two HEC Paris startups that use plants and satellites to promote sustainability ☀ In the special issue "Aligning Business with Planetary Boundaries," Knowledge@HEC interviewed the founders of two remarkable startups from HEC’s incubator at Station F: Fabien Koutchekian CEO at Genomines and Richard Barre, CEO at Pixstart, who are developing green innovations with a deep impact in their respective sectors. Genomines utilizes plants to selectively extract targeted metals, crucial for battery production, aiming to minimize environmental impact. Pixstart offers tailored satellite imagery analysis to monitor changes in water, forests, agricultural fields, and construction sites, optimizing environmental resource management and informing decisions. 3 Key takeaways: 🔹Sustainable Innovation: Both Genomines (plant-based metal extraction) and Pixstart (environmental monitoring with satellites) prioritize sustainability in their approaches. 🔹Environmental Impact Focus: Reducing environmental impact is a core principle for both Genomines and Pixstart, with Genomines aiming to minimize mining's footprint and Pixstart promoting resource optimization. 🔹Social Responsibility: Genomines works with NGOs to bring social benefits alongside business development, while Pixstart fosters a diverse team and considers the social impact of their technology. 🌟 This is an opportunity for us to congratulate them for their great success and transformative journey. These talented entrepreneurs and members of the HEC community bring sustainable solutions through their skills and dedication. ➡️ Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dbPRk-Dk With Inge Kerkloh-Devif, Antoine Lepretre, Thiago Penteado, Incubateur HEC Paris, HEC Paris - Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute, Céline Bonnet-Laquitaine, Daniel Brown, Fernando Diaz Lopez, Ph.D., Daniel Halbheer #Sustainability #PositiveChange #HECFoundation #HECParis #Research #Education #Impact #HECknowledge
