We need wildfire reform and better forest management practices in BC. The McDougall Creek fire did not need to happen; excess red tape & bureaucracy, unwillingness to work with local experts, and mismanagement is what caused the fire to get out of control. Wildfires need to be put out rapidly and forests need to be managed effectively. An incredible group of locals, including several Registered Professional Foresters, are looking to make a documentary highlighting how we can turn the dial and bring health and prosperity back to our forest and prevent wildfires from devastating our province. Over 60% of households in Canada have cats or dogs, and more than 70% see them as family members. Sadly, the shortage of pet-friendly housing in our country is a major problem, making many families choose between a home and keeping their companion animals.
