Ecocem is delighted to be part of a consortium of industry partners that has been successful in securing £500,000 from Innovate UK funding as part of the ‘Contracts for Innovation: Decarbonising Concrete’ competition. The consortium led by John Sisk & Son Ltd features leading experts within Ecocem, Ramboll Group, Loughborough University, Creagh Concrete, Capital Concrete Ltd and BRE who will collaborate on a pioneering, scalable, low carbon demonstrator at Wembley Park in London. The project is a world first application of a new low carbon concrete technology by Ecocem called ACT, a breakthrough cement technology combining a range of technical innovations with the use of widely available low-carbon ingredients to decarbonise the production of cement by as much as 70%, while enhancing the strength and durability of the concrete. John Reddy, Director of Concrete Technology Deployment at Ecocem, commented: “Since embodied CO2 in construction is 11% of all global emissions, and clinker, the critical ingredient in cement, generates two-thirds of these, finding ways to reduce emissions from cement and concrete is critical. ACT Technology brings new thinking and innovation to existing proven materials and processes.” See our blog for more information: https://lnkd.in/ej2Xvxix #FutureOfCement #LowCarbonCement #Decarbonisation #DecarbonisingConstruction #AvoidedEmissions #EmbodiedCarbon #ClimateAction
Are you sure it doesn’t need anything heavy John 😊
Congratulations John and team. Keep up the good work young man
Great job John!!! Congrats!!
Director of Concrete Technology Deployment at Ecocem Global
3moGreat to be part of this project team who are accelerating the work of Ecocem Global Research and Innovation Team. Many years of development has brought us here. Many year of deployment are ahead in decarbonising concrete globally using ACT!
