World Resources Institute published a comprehensive report clearly laying out the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions: https://lnkd.in/gpU_ZNXA. Often the impact of energy use is obscured as it's split between several sectors - this report makes it clear that energy accounts for 75.7% of total emissions.

Best invest in Building and talking about Fusion power, space, and maritime propulsion systems and industry as data centres are. You talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is ignorant of what's happening around you. Pull your uranium heads out, adjust your industry to fusion energy, and prepare to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. As it dawns on Earth like the sun. Great Headline, Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an accelerated pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place," and merely a temporary industry globally. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY Now see what is happening in the Fusion industry in the world. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fuel shortage is increasingly real,
In 2022, the most recent year for which data is available, WA’s greenhouse gas emissions were not only above 2005 levels, but emissions increased by almost 9 million tonnes between 2021 and 2022. Why? There are a few reasons but at the heart of this trend is the outcomes of a state government that, despite the ads to the contrary, is going slow on climate action. For example, just today an expansion of Kwinana Gas-Fired Power Station was approved. All the while, large-scale renewable energy stalls.

At least some positive news in these days: EU greenhouse gas emissions fell by 8.3% in 2023 The climate action progress report by the European Commission shows that net greenhouse gas emissions have dropped by 37% compared to 1990, while EU Gross Domestic Product increased by 68% indicating a strong decoupling of economic growth and emissions. Renewable energy covers almost 45% of EU electricity achieved by a renewable energy surge in the past years. More information e.g. on the emissions from different sectors can be found in the report. https://lnkd.in/eCg3r_qs #greenhousegasemissions #greenenergy #cleanenergy #greeneconomy #greendeal #netzero #climatechange

Increasing the use of renewable resources is key to addressing climate change. That’s why we’re proud that in 2023, 59.4% of the electricity used across our organization came from renewable sources. And we’re not stopping there—our goal is to increase this even further by the end of 2024. Read more in our latest ESG report: https://ow.ly/I1ZS50TSqI9 #RoadmapZero #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy
