Information this DHL tracking screen gives me -
1. My parcel journey started at 9:17AM
2. The van is currently at stop number 1
3. I'm stop number 43
Questions in my mind-
1. Where did the parcel journey start from? 10km away from my location? 50km?1000km?
2. How far is that stop 1 from start? How far is that stop from my location?
3. How much time does it usually take at each stop? Are these 43 stop spread all around the city?
The ONLY things I want to know -
1. The best estimate for time of delivery
2. Are they on track for that time
As a PM, I can imagine some well-meaning colleague, inspired by a cab/food-delivery app, suggesting a map layout to introduce 'gamification'. Not realising that it works in cab/food-delivery because 1. ETA is much shorter and you are very invested in the cab/food reaching you soon, 2. The layout is a map of your neighbourhood so you can actually estimate/eye-ball how far they actually are from your location.
In this case, as a user, all I need is assurity, and above all, peace of mind. Not a game.
