Innovation from FMD.
FMD recently shipped this FMD-015 #smallvolumeprover to Texas. The #prover will be used in a cryogenic application on ethane with temperatures down to -130F. This cryogenic prover incorporates FMD’s new proprietary seal blend engineered for temperatures as low as -300F, ideal for LNG, C1, propane, ethane and all other NGLs. Moving forward, these seals will be incorporated in all FMD cold temperature and cryogenic provers providing application temperature flexibility. Other features of this prover include polyisocyanurate insulation, nitrogen purged drive end and control housing, remote mounted pressure sensors for thermal isolation, redundant process RTD for temperature isolation, and a density measurement kit including a fully jacketed Coriolis meter. Transload Unit On-Site Near Detroit, Set Up, Tested & Running Refined Products here before Christmas. S&S was asked to design a mobile transload unit with triple axel DOT trailer with dual sided rail car access to allow the unit to both load and unload rail cars. The package includes Dixon loading arms, FMC (Guidant Measurement) meter, Scully ground/overfill, Blackmer GNX4 pump, Toptech Multiload controller, diesel generator & LED lights. S&S team was on-site doing startup/training along with the end users meter prover company running test loads this week to ensure the system was performing as designed. With the platform and its self-leveling stair allowing it to be lowered down with the handrails attached to meet the DOT shipping height restrictions, the unit can be towed to site and not require a flatbed for shipping and eliminates the need for heavy equipment to do timely and costly field erection, common with some designs.
