They are complex and customized products, and any cost estimate MUST acknowledge this reality - Majority forecasted cost declines in Green H2 production is based on Electrolyser Stack cost reduction due to mass production, however some key cost drivers like SPACE, ELECTRICAL, CODE/Standards Requirements, & GRID Connection can be underestimated in public cost estimates - Despite today's high cost, there is ample opportunity for signification CAPEX cost reduction in (1) Electrolyser Stack Level (12% CAPEX cost reduction): Reducing stack footprint, Replacing expensive materials, Improving reaction efficiency, & Lengthening lifetime (2) Electrolyser System Level (41% CAPEX cost reduction): Unifying system requirements, Reducing reliability & redundancy needs, Supporting RD&D to scale electrical components (3) Green H2 Plant Level (12% CAPEX cost reduction): Leverage smaller footprint electrolyser, Reducing number or cost of compressors, Harmonizing regulations & interconnection standards globally https://lnkd.in/gS3haFtD
