I wholeheartedly believe this and try to practice it…and even better than fun is enjoyment. A task or activity can be enjoyable and fun and still be work. My degree is in journalism, the way that has transferred to my sales career and even the way I sales coach is in being curious! I’m not actually a Sales Coach, I’m a Detective! It shows up in the way I enjoy the discovery phase when meeting with a new prospect or even the way I approach prospecting. “WHAT can I find out” “WHERE else can I look, have I used all the resources and tools available to me to learn more about the prospect” “WHO do I know that may know the prospect that can give me insights” I will happily go down the rabbit hole and its fun to ME. One of my first questions when I’m coaching a rep is to ask them what aspect of the role/industry they enjoy…what about the job do they consider to be fun…this is a great foundation for understanding not just what motivates them but what may be missing from the team or company culture! It’s Wednesday—the day before many of us gather with loved ones to share what we’re thankful for. This time of year often gives us a moment to reflect, to pause, and to appreciate the people and experiences that have shaped us over the past year. But as we express gratitude for others, I want to remind you to take a moment to be thankful for yourself, too. If you’re reading this, know that I appreciate you. I’m thankful for the connections I’ve been able to make this year and the incredible teams I’ve had the privilege to lead and learn from. I’m grateful for the growth, the challenges that taught me resilience, and the new faces who’ve joined this journey.
