Looking back on the Thanksgiving holiday and thinking about the many things I am grateful for, I came across a quote that was too timely to not to be shared:
"Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another." - John C. Maxwell.
During my career, I've had the incredible privilege of working with diverse teams and witnessing the profound impact each member can have. It's not just the leaders or those in high-profile positions who make a difference; every single individual, regardless of their title, has the power to influence and shape the organization.
Whether it's the admission staff at Wild Wadi Waterpark who ensured every guest had an unforgettable experience, the lifeguards at Aquaventure Waterpark, Great Wolf Lodge, City of Kissimmee, and Charlotte Mecklenburg County who prioritized safety above all, or the teams at the City of Box Elder who prioritized service and the needs of the citizens...each person's contribution is a vital thread in the tapestry of our collective success.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to all those who have impacted our teams (and me) in both small and large ways. It's the smile from a guest service representative, the innovative solution from a team member, the "warm welcome" and "fond farewell" of frontline staff, or the extra effort put in by someone to ensure a project's success. These actions, though sometimes unseen, are the difference makers!
Thanksgiving does not have to be gratitude for just ONE day. Instead, we can carry this spirit of gratitude and appreciation into the coming year. Let's recognize and celebrate the influence each of us has on one another. Because in the end, it's not about titles or positions; it's about how we choose to impact the lives around us.
Here's to continuing to make a positive impact...one life at a time.
Huge thanks to everyone working so hard all year and then giving of yourselves in your local communities. Happy Holidays everyone!
