🎓 Graduated Cum Laude from the TU Delft! 🎓 I am thrilled to anounce that I have officially graduated cum laude from the Master’s program in Complex Systems Engineering and Management at TU Delft | Technology, Policy and Management and can now proudly call myself an engineer! 👷♂️ Two weeks ago, I successfully defended my thesis: "Unlocking Offshore Hybrid Projects: Modelling Price and Volume Risks and Their Mitigation Measures for Offshore Hybrid Projects in Offshore Bidding Zones under Flow-Based Market Coupling." With an 8.5 on my thesis, it marked the conclusion of an enriching academic journey. I won’t delve into the detailed findings here, as the complexity and length might bore many of you. However, for stakeholders who may be involved in the future development of hybrid projects (such as offshore wind developers, TSOs, and Ministries of North Sea countries), feel free to reach out. I’m happy to share the insights gained from eight months of research on hybrid projects. I want to express special thanks to Marc Bahlo and all other collegues at RWE for the positive and valuable collaboration throughout my internship. Also I'm grateful to my graduation committee— Laurens De Vries, Kenneth Bruninx, and Özge Okur—for their guidance and feedback during the thesis process. Now, after 25 years of education, I’m ready to embark on my professional career. My personal goal is to contribute meaningfully to accelerating the decarbonization of energy systems and addressing human-induced climate change. I’m committed to taking concrete action—whether through technological innovation, project development, policy reform, or other initiatives that drive real system changes. In the coming period, I will focus on finding the best path to achieve this personal goal and start my career. #Graduated #CumLaude #SystemsEngineer #Hyrbid #OffshoreBiddingZone #OBZ #EnergyTransition

Last week was #GreenCareersWeek and we were pleased to be able to offer some sessions on careers in the offshore wind industry at the Rampion Visitor Centre, for our local schools, as well as some job seekers from Brighton Job Centre. Students had the opportunity to learn more about the wind farm, try out our Virtual Reality experience and hear from some of the operations team on their roles, background and career paths. Some feedback from Year 8 students at Ratton School included: Favourite part of the visit: "The virtual reality climbing the wind turbine" "Learning about the wind farm and how it works" When asked what they learned about careers: "You can get apprenticeships" "Wind turbines tackle climate change" "GCSEs are very important for a career at Rampion" Thanks also to Chailey Secondary School for the lovely write up below, it was great to meet your Year 9 students and to answer their questions!
We had a great time at the Rampion Offshore Wind Visitor Centre last week as part of our learning about Green Careers for Green Careers Week. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ezb5P4Xg

⚡️ Following last week's #ScotsmanGreenSkills conference, Eastern Green Link 2 project Director, Ricky Saez, writes for the The Scotsman on the need to attract new talent to drive the energy transition, while retaining and developing the skills that underpin the UK's world-class energy sector. 💬 "By working more closely to develop strong pathways and telling the story of the huge variety of opportunities available, we can bridge our skills gap and build a workforce to match the scale of our clean energy ambitions." 👷 At SSEN Transmission, we're committed to developing the young workforce and we have recently welcomed our biggest intake of new recruits to our graduate programme, all of whom will eventually move into specialist roles that will help in delivering a #NetworkForNetZero ➡️ Read Ricky's article here: https://lnkd.in/eaMNcU2i

This week I attended the launch event for DNV - Energy Systems ETO for Spain. One of our panels focused on the critical role that DEI plays as an accelerator in the energy transition. My key takeaways are: 1. Job opportunities within the sector far exceed the size of the talent pipeline. The sector must do more to demystify career pathways, skills and qualifications needed, and especially to those groups not traditionally represented. 2. Many of the barriers to the energy transition; policy, social resistance and adaptation to new behaviours, could be alleviated by greater inclusion and engagement of all communities. 3. Businesses within the sector have ambitions to be relevant long into the future. DEI is driver of business performance and a value, and that commitment should outlast short-term political headwinds. Huge thanks for the energy and insights from our panellists Cristina Fuster Fabricia Abreu Marta Gonzalez Gil Cristina Otero Sinué Salgado
