Investing in Alberta’s communities helps lift community spirit, support the provincial economy and build a stronger and more vibrant province. We’re proud to invest in communities in various ways, including the community grants program which supports hundreds of projects such as playgrounds, community halls, arts centres, festivals, events and programs that better the lives of Albertans. o The community grants program includes the Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) and the Community Initiatives Program (CIP), which help move forward initiatives that will benefit community members. Through the Community Initiative Program (CIP), Alberta’s government is providing the Edson Senior’s Transportation Society with nearly $66,000 to help them purchase a wheelchair accessible bus which will help transport Edson and area seniors to the places they need to go. Since April 2024, Alberta’s government has invested over $12 million in community grants supporting 249 non-profits
