I love this Liz Fosslien twist on the Eisenhower or 2x2 matrix. We all know that we're supposed to focus on the important-and-not-urgent tasks. How often do you find yourself sucked into the other three quadrants, and yet unable to stop thinking about the one that would actually make the biggest difference to your life and work? In his fantastic book 'Four Thousand Weeks', Oliver Burkeman points out that we can never get it all done anyway. He suggests the reasonable response is to stop worrying about all the unimportant things, and focus on a tiny handful of meaningful things that really matter to us. To help with that, why not carve out specific time in your diary to work on what is important-and-not-urgent? The best time to start this was 10 years ago, the next best time is today! _________________ Hi, I’m Daria 👋🏻 ✨ I help leaders develop for good, by working in their Zone of Genius. 📖 I created The Strengths Deck and wrote Unleash Your Awesome to help you get up close and personal with your strengths. ➡️ I work with teams and individuals. 💡 Follow me for ideas on how to build sustainable performance by understanding and applying your unique strengths. #EisenhowerMatrix #TimeManagement #productivity #efficiency #priorities #meaning #success #results
I like your suggested practice of creating time each day to focus on the important by non urgent mahi Daria. I find physically writing these things down on paper also helps to create new and improved habits / ways of working. Jordan Petersons thinking about the power of writing has been really useful.
Ha; this version feels like a personal attack 😂😂 Love it! And I just had that book recommended to me yesterday so two mentions is a sure sign to read it!
Haha I love this so much! Her play on ideas is so great and realistic to what we're actually thinking and experiencing. I ALWAYS tell people "your work will never ever ever end. So stop trying to get to inbox zero and focus on the work that actually matters and makes a difference. The stuff that doesn't matter will usually fall away and never bother you again. Or their owner will go bother someone else 😂 "
Put your hand up if you can join me in finding yourself in bottom right hand quadrant 🙋♀️ It’s so easy to do the stuff that helps me tick stuff off my list coz it makes me feel good 🤦♀️
Daria Williamson As I scroll LinkedIn doing my non important and non urgent work… this made me laugh 😂
Yes Daria Williamson it's a great twist on the original – they're such a common experience 😁 great to know I'm not the only one...
That bottom right hand corner is a powerful vortex!
Certainly a unique take on the matrix Daria Williamson !
Great perspective!

7moI'm with Ruth...this feels like a personal attack 😂 🙈 And totally on point...Lately, I've recognised that I spend a lot of in that bottom right corner, completely ignoring the things I should be doing because they make me feel overwhelmed and then procrastination kicks in.
