Building a thriving community in multifamily units takes dedication and strategy, but the rewards are immense! Here are some effective strategies we implement to foster a sense of belonging and connection among our residents: 🔹 Create Inviting Shared Spaces: From well-maintained courtyards to rooftop terraces, we invest in common areas that provide natural gathering spots. Furnished with comfort in mind, these spaces become hubs for socializing and relaxation. 🔹 Organize Events and Activities: Variety is key! We cater to diverse interests with a mix of social gatherings, fitness classes, and volunteer opportunities. Resident input matters, so we involve our community in event planning to ensure activities resonate. 🔹 Facilitate Resident Interaction: Welcoming new residents is a priority. We provide essential information and host meet-and-greet events to foster connections from day one. Resident communication platforms keep everyone informed and encourage casual interaction. 🔹 Promote Open Communication and Feedback: Transparency is crucial. We keep residents updated on maintenance schedules and community events through multiple channels. Regular surveys and meetings allow residents to voice concerns and offer suggestions. 🔹 Empower Resident Involvement: We believe in empowering our residents to take ownership of their community. Resident committees and recognition programs encourage collaboration and foster a sense of pride and belonging. By consistently implementing these strategies, we create vibrant and inclusive communities where residents feel connected and valued. 🏡 Investing in Affordable Housing for a Better Community 🌱 In the realm of affordable housing and environmental wellness, fostering meaningful relationships and open communication is key. Recently, I had an eye-opening encounter with a tenant facing a leaking dishwasher issue, hesitant to notify their landlord due to lease renewal concerns. Through dialogue, we highlighted the importance of timely maintenance to prevent costly damages. At Beyond Equity Group, our mission extends beyond traditional landlord-tenant dynamics. We aim to bridge gaps between tenants, landlords, homeowners, and organizations, fostering a community where communication flows freely. Our goal is to empower tenants with the knowledge to consider ownership or investment opportunities, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility within our communities. I'm proud to work alongside Caleb Sherrill, whose genuine connections with our tenants exemplify our commitment to community-building. Let's continue to nurture relationships and collaborate for a brighter, more inclusive future in affordable housing. Together, we can make a difference. #AffordableHousing #CommunityBuilding #BeyondEquityGroup

John Burns Research and Consulting recently outlined 'Smart Strategies for Community Development' — and we couldn't agree more. ➡️ Building a stronger sense of community is now a larger driver of land-planning decisions. According to JBRC, "Outdoor connectivity boomed during the pandemic. Now, builders and developers are encouraging residents not just to get outdoors but to get outdoors together." Our OnPlace communities place specific emphasis on the importance of the great outdoors. How it affects our physical, mental, and even spiritual health. Bonus points if we are able to connect our residents so they can experience these benefits together. Other outdoor gathering spaces mentioned by JBRC include communal gardens, safe routed for walking and biking to nearby schools or ships, and the return of TND or, front-porch living. All of which, we love! ➡️ Creative amenities create lifestyle that draws people to master-planned communities. What drives your buyers to purchase a home in your community? According to the JRBC Top 50 MPCs data, the top factors that contribute to higher home sales are lifestyle, high-quality amenities, and events. It's important to understand who your buyer is when planning your community amenities. What does your customer value? How do they want to spend their time with loved ones and neighbors? OnPlace can assist in guiding community and amenity visioning with the end use in mind. Great insight, John Burns Research and Consulting. 📷 Pictured: Places we love. The top contributor to a positive sense of community is neighbors respecting community rules (66%), according to Multifamily Dive's recent findings. 🏠🤝 Ensuring clean pet areas and organized trash collection also plays a crucial role in shaping residents' perceptions of a property. Additionally, community spaces designed for gathering with neighbors (mentioned by one-third of respondents) and social events to meet neighbors and the community team (highlighted by nearly one-quarter) are key drivers of positive community sentiment. 🌟 Furthermore, 9% of respondents expressed interest in opportunities to contribute to positive social change within their neighborhood, showing a desire for community engagement beyond traditional amenities. 🌍💬 #CommunityLiving #ResidentEngagement #TenantExperience

🚀 Making Moves in Property & Partnerships 🚀 This week has been packed with exciting milestones: 💼 Met with a potential investor to discuss funding a new commercial conversion project with my JV partners. The conversation was promising, and the feedback has been fantastic! 🏢 Hosted the first-ever Property Developers Networking Event in Hemel - what an amazing turnout and great energy! I’m grateful for all the support and new connections made. Met a couple of Developers who have worked on Accessible projects, some very useful insights 👌 🤝 Met with Saffron & Lee from Watford & West Herts Chambers of Commerce to strategise on working with councils to identify unused properties. Together, we’re aiming to transform these spaces into affordable, accessible homes for the community. 🌐 Additionally, I’ve started conversations with a new contact from Brent Council’s Disability Forum to explore connections with other London boroughs - and beyond - to expand accessible housing across multiple communities. 🏠 Submitted an offer on a property for one of my Supported Living providers - fingers crossed! 🤞 It’s been a week of growth, collaboration, and big ideas. How has your week been? #PropertyDevelopment #CommercialConversion #Networking #AccessibleHousing #CommunityImpact #Collaboration
