As a landlord with many years of experience, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some wonderful tenants. Recently, I’ve noticed an increasing number of questions from tenants about how they can turn their rented home into a smart home. Many of them truly view our properties as their homes, and it’s been great to see them take such an interest in making improvements. In response, we created a simple leaflet outlining the various ways tenants can enhance their homes with smart technology, without needing to ask for permission. This resource has been well-received, and I thought it might be helpful to share with fellow landlords. I’ve attached the leaflet here for anyone who might find it useful. Eighty-eight percent of US multifamily is more than 10 years old. ⭐ Residents are looking for curb to couch convenience, and operators are looking for operational efficiencies to address staffing challenges. ⭐ Owners are concerned more with the capital expenses while managers are more concerned with labor costs-these diverged interests can complicate the relationship. ⭐ If we’re loading residents up with apps, it isn’t providing the seamless convenient experience they’re looking for.
