🎉 We did it! The long awaited publication of the 6th Edition Curriculum is upon us! 🎓 Following a comprehensive UK wide stakeholder consultation throughout 2023, the document has been compiled for utilisation by all education providers undertaking paramedic programmes across the UK, this includes degree programmes, masters programmes and apprenticeships. 🤝 As the only professional body for UK paramedics we produce the only curriculum for UK paramedics, that is why we have put extraordinary effort into enabling all interested parties to contribute. We continue to engage with colleagues at the HCPC with reference to adoption of the curriculum and their consideration when validating UK paramedic programmes. 🏹 The aim being that this curriculum will be adopted by all UK education providers offering pre-registration paramedic programmes. Inaugural AHP awards – nominations now open! The inaugural AHP awards to celebrate Allied Health Professionals and Support Workers at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are now open! The Allied Health Professions (AHPs) are the third largest clinical workforce in the health and care. The Trust employs over 600 AHPs and nearly 200 AHP support workers, plus a growing number of apprenticeships. If you know an Allied Health Professional, support worker or a team that has had an impact on others, then this is just the right opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve. It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and I am proud to say that Alabama’s nursing apprenticeship program has been a game-changer, significantly impacting the healthcare workforce. With over 600 RN and LPN apprentices across more than 70 healthcare facilities in Alabama, the program has made a substantial difference in addressing nursing shortages and providing hands-on training for future healthcare professionals. Gadsden State Community College has played a crucial role in the success of this initiative. As one of the colleges that helped pave the way for the apprenticeship program, their support and commitment to workforce development are evident. The partnership between educational institutions like Gadsden State and healthcare providers continues to grow, ensuring that Alabama’s nursing workforce is well-prepared to meet the needs of an ever-evolving healthcare environment. https://lnkd.in/emWCdvDm

The home of NC's largest healthcare apprenticeship program was recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor. In 2022, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Davidson-Davie Community College created an apprenticeship program including 13 healthcare career pathways such as nursing, pharmacy technology, medical lab technology and more. Davidson-Davie Community College was recently recognized as an Apprenticeship Ambassador by the U.S. Department of Labor for its efforts to offer paid on-the-job training for industries including healthcare. Remember to do this before flying to the UK to give your UKMLA : 1. Apply for Certificate of Good Standing with your medical council. 2. Apply for EPIC verification of your Primary Medical Qualification ! 3. Keep your Internship Completion form ready with all the rotation dates ready ! 4. Your IELTS or OET should be less than 2 years old ! 5. Organise your professional employment or any clinical gap into a template ready to post. Bonus tip : Before you even do all of this do check if your medical college is registered with the World Directory of Medical Schools ! Some of my friends were the pioneers who got their own college registered !
