Can't stop thinking about #vive2024? Us, too. Take a look at this article in HealthTech Magazines covering C. K. Wang and other healthcare data experts discussing the ways responsible data sharing can improve health outcomes at this year's ViVE conference. “Widespread adoption [of patient-generated health data] has not truly occurred. It’s too early to tell what impact PGHD will have,” said Wang. “However, I do predict it will be an integral part of patient care and that sponsors will continue to work PGHD into their trial protocols. It is my hope that oncology providers will start adopting these types of technologies so they can take care of patients in a better way and improve their quality of life, thereby reducing the cost of care.” https://lnkd.in/daErNXHf ViVE Jordan Scott #realworlddata #rwd

I really enjoyed attending the Digital Health New York (DHNY) 2024 Summit this week. I am grateful for the invitation to join such an incredible group of healthcare providers, systems, innovators, and investors representing the ecosystem who discussed the evolution of healthcare through technology. A major theme throughout the event was the extraordinary potential of technology - especially AI - to improve patient outcomes. If we optimize its use, AI can drive operational efficiencies, enhance disease prediction, augment diagnostics, and even support mental health. However, a critical reminder that resonated with me was: "Progress moves at the speed of trust." As we continue to leverage AI, we must ensure that we improve future outcomes without perpetuating bias or inequities. There were a host of incredible speakers throughout this summit. I particularly enjoyed the Value-Based Specialty Care panel with Vivek Garg, MD, MBA, Ali Khan, MD, MPP, Evelyn Goodfriend, and Robin Shah, which explored the true meaning of "value" in healthcare. Key takeaways included: - Tangible improvements in health outcomes were seen by keeping care centered around the patient. - Better clinical decision-making comes through end-to-end connected care and operational efficiencies. - Ali Khan's poignant question: "How do we ensure everyone receives the care they deserve?" He emphasized that everyone should have an "easy button" to accessing care. Overall, the day reinforced a central theme that aligns with our mission at identifeye HEALTH: We are all here to help patients. By focusing on patient-centered care and leveraging technology to develop tools that make clinicians' work easier and more efficient, we enable them to spend more time with patients. Our goal is to remove barriers and contribute to making care more accessible and scalable. #DHNY24 #HealthcareInnovation #AIinHealthcare #DigitalHealth #ValueBasedCare

Can digital technologies transform chronic care management? With the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, finding new ways to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs has become more important than ever. Understanding the patient experience is crucial in #chroniccondition care, as disease and long-lasting treatment have significant effects on a patient's physical, emotional, and social well-being. Digital technologies, such as #ai and data-driven systems, virtual tools, #largelearning models and #conversationalai have emerged as powerful tools in the fight against chronic disease. These #technologies can be used to monitor patients' #healthdata in real-time, provide personalised care plans, and engage patients in their own care. They can also help healthcare providers identify patients at high risk of complications and take proactive measures to prevent adverse events. Enhanced HCP-patient communication mechanisms are crucial in managing and helping patients with chronic conditions. #virtualhealth tools improve communication and collaboration between patients and their care teams via mobile apps, messaging and other remote health technologies. Electronic patient-reported outcomes (e-PROMs) enhance communication between patients and care providers to improve patient involvement in care planning and decision-making. Data-driven systems automatically analyse the reported health data and prioritise based on algorithms adapted to each drug and each patient profile. Improved management of treatment-emerging symptoms can help maximise treatment and medication adherence while helping HCPs identify symptoms and intervene as early as possible to mitigate potential complications. Designing #digitalhealthsolutions around the different dynamics of each chronic condition, lifestyle, and patient's needs is critical for developing systems that can address the user's problems and help #careteams manage the treatment better. As we continue to innovate in digital technologies for managing chronic care, we must involve users - both patients and doctors - in the design process. By doing so, we can ensure that these tools are not only effective but also easily implemented and adopted. #digitalcare #digitaladoption #healthtech #healthtechnology hashtag #remotepatientmonitoring #healthcareinnovation

Despite a drop in venture funding for digital health companies over the last two-and-a-half years, digital health products and solutions are expanding in scope and function to aid patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. More solutions are now focused on specific diseases, and their commercial appeal has grown as developers build solutions that bring value back to providers, are more easily integrated with health systems, and embrace innovation such as AI to personalize care and reduce provider workload. Product types have also expanded, with health assessment tools such as digital diagnostics, sensor-based digital measures, and remote patient monitoring solutions joining digital therapeutics and consumer health apps to offer value for personal health and clinical care. These findings are based on a new report from the IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science: Digital Health Trends 2024: Implications for Research and Patient Care.
