Congrats to our Co-Founder, Dr. T, on her new board appointment! In 2018, Dr. T was in the food stamp line, wondering how she could create a better future for her family. Today, she’s changing the face of tech in Nashville—leading and serving in spaces where she’s often the only one at the table. This journey is a testament to the power of resilience, vision, and the determination to create change, not just for oneself but for others. As a neurodiverse and diverse technologist, Dr. T embodies what it means to lead by example—being the voice and representation so many need to see. Her work shows how we can lift as we climb, creating opportunities and making seats for those who are often overlooked or underestimated. This isn’t just about her—it’s about all of us. Together, we can break barriers, build tables, and ensure no one is left out of the conversation. Let’s continue to celebrate and empower those who lead the way for a more inclusive and equitable tech industry. Here’s to Dr. T and everyone committed to lifting others while reaching new heights! #RepresentationMatters #NeurodiverseLeadership #ReppedInTech

I am deeply connected to my phone. Yet, having been an educator who has had to compete for students’ attention, I also understand the challenge school districts face balancing between students' well-being and using technology to support their development. Navigating these new frontiers without established best practices is no easy task. That’s why I’m thrilled to see how Plan Forward supports administrators through this change by providing crucial insights and strategies to help guide their decisions. Plan Forward makes it easier to track feedback data throughout the year, and measure your progress toward your goals! #EdTechForGood #K12Leaders #PolicyPlanning #DecisionMakingTool
Empowering School Districts to Effectively Navigate #CellPhonePolicies As school districts across states like Virginia and Pennsylvania pilot new approaches to student cell phone use during school hours, Plan Forward is at the forefront, providing district leaders with the insights and tools they need to make informed decisions. By engaging with communities and gathering real-time feedback, we’re helping schools shape their policies and communicate their #SmartTech strategies clearly with families. Now instead of guessing how well their new technology policies are working, they’ll have real results to show the impact. And that’s a story the board – and the community – can join in celebrating. Discover how we're making a difference and why your district should join the movement. Make Your #CellPhonePolicy Matter – Plan. Act. Adapt. In a world where arts organizations often struggle to remain relevant, the Louisville Orchestra stands as a beacon of innovation and community engagement. Their approach to artist-driven civic leadership offers valuable lessons for cultural institutions seeking to make a lasting impact. Graham Parker, CEO of the Louisville Orchestra, shares a compelling story of how the orchestra was founded during the Great Flood of 1937. This crisis became a catalyst for civic leaders to unite and create something meaningful for their community. Today, the orchestra continues to embody this spirit of resilience and purpose. A challenge for many arts organizations is finding authentic ways to connect with their communities. The solution? Embracing artist-driven civic leadership. When artists lead community initiatives, they bring creativity, empathy, and passion that audiences feel deeply. A common mistake is viewing artists solely as performers rather than as civic leaders. The Louisville Orchestra demonstrates that when artists are empowered to lead, they can drive positive change and foster strong community bonds. Cultural institutions long to see their organizations as vital parts of the social fabric. The lesson here is clear: by embracing artist-driven civic leadership, organizations can position themselves as vital contributors to the social fabric of their cities. You might be thinking, “We’re not an orchestra—how does this apply to us?” The principles of artist-driven civic leadership can be adapted to any cultural organization, regardless of size or discipline. Curious about where to start? Begin by identifying your artists’ unique strengths and exploring how these can meet community needs. Invite them to take on leadership roles in community projects and use their creative skills to address local challenges. It’s time to reimagine the role of artists in our communities. How will you empower your artists to lead? I’d love to hear your thoughts and stories in the comments below. I have been challenged by many leaders over the years to teach "intuitive leadership" and explain - what is it? How does it work? Why that an not logic, reason, analysis and data? Times are changing. The Leadership Journey is about quick adaptation, making decisions when data isn't readily available and what you decide upon is has a short runway. I'm going to take on 10 students - to teach this to over 12 weeks. You must be leaders, high-achievers or role models. I will use some of the experiences in my 6th book Heartbeat: Intuit Thru It - that will be published this year.
