Filling out complicated forms can be a barrier to accessing government benefits and services. But it doesn’t have to be so difficult. That’s why we host #FormFest—an event designed to imagine a world in which forms are well designed and make government more accessible to the people it serves. Our second annual FormFest brought together form enthusiasts from all over the world to collaborate on a better path forward. We focused on the need to make forms accessible, bring them online, and optimize for mobile—since only 2% of government forms are currently digitized. One of the coolest parts of my career has been the surprising, lasting friendships I’ve developed over the years - many of which began as purely work relationships. Michael Katz and I began collaborating in 2016 - when he was at Qualtrics and I was at Ambition. We spent the next few years overseeing March SaaSness, a huge annual tournament we ran pitting 64 software companies against each other in a massive winner-take-all-bracket. The tournament ended in 2018, but we’ve stayed in touch ever since, and have become power users of each other’s current platforms - Flowsend and Textla. We decided to create a fun mutual testimonial video for each other’s platforms, which you can watch below. If you’re using video as a content vehicle at your company, Flowsend is a must have. It’s saved me countless hours since I started using it back in May. And of course you should check out Textla, too. 😎 P.S. had to include our opening commentary on our mutual affinity for rap decor - we’re definitely both 90s kids at heart.
