I love interesting founders. Steve Gilman tops that list. He’s been a professional baseball player, an intelligence officer and a successful entrepreneur. Steve’s newest startup, OneRange, is equally as interesting. And that why I’m thrilled to announce our recent investment from Evergreen Mountain Equity Partners (EMEP). OneRange is the intelligent upskilling technology connecting companies and their employees to world-class learning providers, leveraging data across courses, books, conferences, and more to provide individualized recommendations for effective skill-building at every level. At EMEP, we focus exclusively on Future of Work technology. Here's why OneRange is a perfect fit: → OneRange's platform offers automated solutions for employee upskilling. → With its AI-powered intelligence, OneRange delivers personalized recommendations for skill-building, creating tailored learning pathways for employees. → OneRange provides access to a wide range of learning providers, enabling employees to access resources from anywhere, anytime. → As the gig economy continues to grow, individuals need to continuously reskill to remain competitive. I’m honored to be an extended part of the OneRange team! Want to learn more about OneRange and Steve? Designing a culture of lifelong learning is one of the HR Imperatives. However, for small businesses and startups, translating this into training and development programs can be challenging. Traditional L&D models may not fit your needs: 🔹 Team members may have diverse time zones, so ultimate flexibility is a must. 🔹 A one-size-fits-all program may not attend to your team's diverse learning styles and needs. 🔹 It’s difficult to tailor traditional training and development programs to respond to the specialized skills each team member must acquire while building a talent pipeline within your organization. 🔹 Also, you need to stay on top of the latest industry trends. 🔹Last but not least, you must do all the magic with a limited budget.✨ Caylent, a fast-growing tech company, was facing similar challenges. So, they decided to take an innovative approach: an upskilling marketplace. With OneRange, they achieved a 92% employee activation rate, saved 60% on L&D costs, and reclaimed over 2,320 hours of administrative time. 📊 ⭐Curious how they made it? Working in a small company? You got the edge. I observed one thing: big companies have departments for all business functions. And every person is skilled in their corresponding functions. But when a business is concerned, it doesn't run on a single function. It has many functions, bringing stability to a big company. But imagine another scenario where you work in a small company with a team of only 10 to 15 people. Unlike a big company, there are sometimes just one or two people per department. As said earlier, when all departments are in sync, the business operations get a stability tranche. The same applies to a small company, but when just one or two people work in a department, they also interact with other departments, giving those individuals an idea of all the business operations that keep the business on track. This way, an individual grows in terms of skill by getting knowledge of the whole business other than his skills. Isn't that why many startups emerge from small company employees, while big companies stay big by siloing functions, limiting cross-skill learning? #thought #startup #business #learning

"Only big companies invest in Learning & Development". We used to think that was true too. Lately, we've seen lots of examples of smaller companies, even startups, who are doing an amazing job of making sure their people are growing. Here's what that looks like... 1) Leadership that views mentorship as a critical part of their role 2) Employees consciously being given projects to stretch their abilities 3) A culture of idea sharing that fosters collective learning 4) Creating a safe place to take risks and fail (encourages growth) 5) Celebrating individual and team wins to build momentum 6) Identifying knowledge gaps and providing resources to build competencies You don't have to be a Fortune 500 company to create this kind of environment. You just need to be deliberate about it. And there's huge upside. Is your company doing enough to create this type of learning environment? #learning #learninganddevelopment #culture
